Not true. This exact problem happened with the immigrants of the past as well.

The reason the Irish, the Germans and the Italians became Americanized is because they were forced to by the following:

All legal immigration to the US was halted for around 50 years - this means they had to work with other immigrants and the local population

WW2 happened and the draft forced all American males to fight alongside each other The bonds forged in war caused men to bond The city boy lived with the boy from the farm in the same barracks The Catholic Italian from NY fought alongside the WASP from New England

Forced integration - German schools, German newspapers were closed. Everyone was forced to study and only speak English School prayer and the American pledge was instituted in every school.

Prior to this, the same thing was happening with the new immigrants and the locals

Remember that the largest one day lynching involved the hanging of 11 Sicilian youths.
