Let me get this out of the way, I am not a Trump supporter (and if that means I can't partake here, I apologise, and I will leave here), but I am absolutely sick of the constant media manipulation that the left/liberals have going on, and I am with you guys 100% on this issue, and I want to help. So I was wondering, if there is anything that can be done on this issue. As this is as close to censorship as we can get without technically being censorship.

You know how Google only gives you search results that are anti Trump and, pro democrat candidates? Even Fox News, for example, doesn't show up in first pages of Google news. Much less any more pro Trump media.

I can't even begin to speculate how much alogrithm manipulation they have going on for Google, YouTube etc., but what you can very clearly see is the "auto-complete" searches. Try writing Trump and see what comes up for autocomplete, and compare what comes up when you try it for Biden. If you try to write anything that could be even remotely negative for Biden, it won't auto-complete. Even something as simple as "biden remix", it doesn't auto-complete. This is the same thing as with "Hillary Emails" just far more widespread.

I've seen so many campaign ending videos of Biden, without any views or traction. That's because the alogrithms are killing them, and you can't even search for them. For all intent and purposes they might as well be unlisted, and can only be found by people specifically searching for those things. But for anyone looking for neutral content, with no bias one way or another, it will be all anti Trump and pro liberal content.

I remember still for 2016, there was this really great video of Hillary lying for 13 minutes straight. That has 15 million views now. It seems this kind of content is just being pretty much unlisted now, so no one would accidentaly stumble upon it. I assume it's the same reason Reddit quarantined and then banned the Donald subreddit, to limit accidental exposure to any thoughts that don't conform to the liberal agenda.

Is there anything that can be done against this kind of media manipulation from the big tech? Some kind of lawsuits, or something? Because this can go bigger than just 2020, this will lead to full on censorship like in China.

Vote for Trump because he’s the one arresting corrupt people in the system.

But it's like a cancer, you can't just arrest some people, and have everything be good. The big tech is filled with these people who are ready to sacrifice freedom of speech to push their own agenda.

I am not sure if "most people" are really seeing it, and that is the problem. Trump supporters see it, because they are the ones getting the short end of the stick here, but it seems others either don't see it, or turn a blind eye, because it isn't happeneing to them.

Mainstream social media, is still an importaint battleground, and I suspect a reasonable part of Trump winning in 2016 was due to Social media. Memes, and viral videos of pro Trump content definitely helped. The importaint thing is that this content reaches "normies", but if all the "neutral" content out there is monitored by the liberal big brother, it will indoctrinate lots of people who don't have a strong opinion one way or another.

Something like Mastedon is great, but without widespread mainstream acceptance, that will be just another echo chamber that doesn't reach the mainstream.

I do hope the whole Twitter being held accountable would come to fruition.

Trump is the only one really combating the system right now. I understand not wanting to vote for him because he's brash, arrogant and occasionally tasteless. But, honestly, that's probably the single greatest thing you can to do combat the censorship: show it's not working.

I used to be a Disney Passholder, before this whole coronavirus thing. Disney has lost more than 6 BILLION dollars by not just going along with, but pushing this agenda. If that doesn't sway them, it's hard to imagine an amount of money that would without completely dismantling the company. Still, cutting the cord helps, if there's nothing better you can manage. Stop watching. Get your news from places like here, where there's no financial incentive to sway your opinion. Pirate old stuff, if you need to, and don't watch anything produced after 2007ish. Like I said, they won't actually care that they're not making money if you're still using their products. If you are, they're still pushing their agenda.

I hear you, and I am still choosing Trump over Biden, but what happens when Trump wins again? Do you think the liberals in power will stop? They will keep pushing for more and more censoring of content, until we are all living in a George Orwell novel. Trump can't fight this forvever, and the other side will get more and more blatant until they get what they want.

Trump is held in check by a democrat-led house, and the need to win an election. I believe when he wins, especially if we take back the house, the gloves come off.

The biggest problem in combating media censorship right now is lack of competition. Any new companies that spring up get bought up by bigger companies before they offer any kind of challenge. We need conservatives to get together and offer a real challenge to the media establishment. But conservatives tend to the blue collar, concrete side of things, so that's more difficult than it sounds.

Honestly conservatives, starting with politicians and pundits, need to abandon those platforms. Or send out messaging first on platforms like Parler, and follow up with Twitter, etc a day later.

Big Tech, MSM, Democrats have teamed up to brainwash the masses that progressive globalism is nirvana, they do their best to suppress opposition by using their vast media/social media powers.

I'm glad that you recognize the problem. One way to combat it personally is to share your thoughts with as many people as possible and help them to see the truth, that they are being manipulated. Another is to disconnect from cable/old media. Cable subscriptions that require CNN in their basic package helps to fund outlets like CNN who bleed viewers but maintain their revenue. Another is to vote for candidates who acknowledge that legislation is required, platforms who act as publishers need to lose their publisher protections.

I hope you come around to be a Trump supporter, but if not it's good that we can work together on common concerns. Free speech impacts all of us, regardless of affiliation.

Section 230 clarification and reform is the only active path. They are wiping right and centrist thought away, thinking that means they're winning because they see nothing but their self imposed echo chambers. The problem for them is America is a center right nation. The ideas still exist, and like asking "whats the moon made of" will still jokingly get a "cheese" response they're baked into the nations thought process. If 230 reform doesn't come to hold them accountable, then they will overreach into something and build the enemy they claim to be fighting against. We're currently entering the "why don't we just make alcohol illegal" stage of Prohibition. Everyone saw how that went historically.
