Tested the link myself and it silently failed to send in facebook messenger. It usually gives a prompt that a link can't be shared. In this case it shadowbanned the link as there was no prompt that the recipient would not receive the link.
Verified by looking at my phone app vs desktop app. The software that sent the message had it still displayed. The software that didn't send it, both using the same account, had no record of the link being sent.
