If you see cars with those plates driving in your red state, chances are they are more right wing than you. Upstate NY is solid red -- NYC is what drags it down and many there don't even drive. Same with California and NJ. The cities have fallen, and many conservatives are stuck living near the frontlines fighting the good fight.

That said, I can understand the sentiment, but the type of car is a better indicator: American brand truck - good, imported beater sedan - bad, high end German import - mixed bag, non-descript minivan - based Communist removal.

If people where you live are actually engaged in local politics, and not just laying around on your butts, then you wont leave a big old gap for these people to fill.

9 times out of 10 people in these towns dont give a shit themselves, and then get shocked when the new people come in and start getting engaged.

I live in Virginia. My aunt used to live here and is a die-hard scumbag liberal. She went down to Georgia about 15 years ago. I asked why she wanted to move to such a red state, part of it was an opportunity at the CDC and the other was her need to help change the state blue.

It's easy to blame California for states turning blue, but the fact is we have more Republicans than your entire state, whichever state you choose.

Tons of New York driving around Georgia and some of my neighbors are from there.

Look, I know there's beautiful natural landscapes, low crime, everyone is friendly, the town is clean and local businesses give good service, but have you considered that you could be worldly and enjoy MegaCorp Cultural Food Chain if we imported 200K new residents in government aid and raised taxes?

I live in a vacation area and realize the only reason i see tourists is because they are fleeing what they built in the cities. I'm about to put bumper stickers on my truck that says, "Vacationers go home." People from rural areas dont go to cities on vacation.
