He was born in Boston but traveled with family. As a baby he lived in Los Angeles. He's probably not the best example of a MassHole imo. Pixies were / are considered a U-Mass band though.
Me either. I know that Frank Black and the band did simple recordings on 4 / 8 track and then eventually went to a studio that had the "24 track" + tape mentality (the now defunct Sound City Studios, Van Nuys).
Still no idea if their music is good.
Music is one of my hobbies and I wonder how most recording engineers would feel about 24 track mentality + DAW.
I met the pixies once and they were polite but funnily enough their singer Frank Black has a reputation as an egomaniac control freak
