Have friend who works for the PO. Says start times keep getting pushed forward and they are required to be back in earlier and earlier. Impossible to complete the task assigned. Now she will admit that the new staff are difficult to deal with because they feel entitled and don't want to put the required effort in. She is told that she can't take her vacation because of the workload and then is chastised for not taking it. Can't wait for retirement in a few years if she can make it.
I have a hard time believing this, just about every home gets mail everyday IMO. Just because you have more mail making your bag heavier doesn't mean you have more stops. More stops is more time. More mail is just mailmen complaining about weight and trudging slower because of said weight. They used to have carts where are the carts? They use to have strong men, where are the strong men?
When you have more packages than you have room in your vehicle, you have to return to the PO to pick up more. More mail means more sorting. Yes they sort their own mail, order it for their route. Not saying the system is perfect but she says the new rules are not making things easier. Oh, and she is on a mandatory 6 day work week and is sometimes called in for a seventh.
