According to legend, Scotland was founded by, and named after, an Egyptian princess: Scota (Scotia).
Scots claim to have made the trek out of Egypt, lingered a time in Spain, then settled in Ireland before claiming the area now known as Scotland.
There's some Sythian history in there, too.
A lot of people think it's silly, but I believe there is much truth. Scottish Gaelic has similarities to Hebrew -- perhaps Gaelic began as an Afro-Asiatic language like Hebrew.
So are Scots actually Egyptians in exile? Or related in any way to the lost tribes?
Ancient Egyptians -- many of them, anyway -- had red hair. They did not look like today's Egyptians. And a lot of them had naturally elongated skulls. So maybe they were a hybrid race of humans.
I'm studying this because I'm interested in my own heritage; particularly that part that I was not allowed to know about.
Still have a lot to discover, but so far things are quite interesting.
Sadly, I imagine I will likely never get full agreement. Too many people with an agenda.
