When only like 5% of the population identifies a certain way, you wouldn't expect to see such a massive amount of them in all forms of media. (Try to think of another minuscule population/characteristic/identity that gets the same amount of attention) The idea is that homosexuality used to not be widely accepted, but when plastered all over the media, people are conditioned to think it is normal.
The slope goes from gays not being accepted, to gays being tolerated, to gays being celebrated, to asking children if they feel gay, and now sexual orientation is for some reason being introduced to a children's cartoon. That's the slippery slope.
Gay men have always been overrepresented in entertainment for reasons that should be obvious unless you are totally bewildered on the nature of humanity. That they use to have to hide this fact has to do with the them being an extremely tiny minority and it being considered immoral to encourage empty fruitless anal relationships in the opinions of most. I would wonder why you think there is some virtue in promoting or romanticizing sterile relationships but I think I already know why. Not a condemnation ofc. Also keep in mind that some people who feel the temptation of this kind of sexual behavior don’t know embrace it or wish to see it promoted. Sins of the flesh. Not everything that makes you feel good in the moment is good for your spirit in the long run. Not everything you feel is something to be proud of. Anyone with weight problems can tell you the pride comes from fighting your desire. Giving in leads to feeling empty and weak.

I mean the whole "sin of the flesh" deal didn't work with horny teenagers getting pregnant so its very obvious religion its losing its hold on people even if they are religious. Strict abstinence simply does not work but many Christians keep pretending it does and then it blows up in their face with a surprise grand daughter/son or a gay child that completely cuts them out of their lives.
It's definitely more nuanced than that. Horny teenagers getting pregnant isn't the worst case scenario either. People have been starting families in their late teen for literally all of history. Whatever the case, the original point of op still stands. When you start promoting these kinds of things it will go further and further until there is a violet swing in the other direction. Not that its avoidable anyway as this cycle is prehistoric. Either way, I dont blame entertainment industry or gays or anyone else, it's up to us whether we consume it or not
