Do you suppose the demcocrat knows that, historically, mixed race has a problem in that they are considered somewhat outsiders by both black and white -- stuck in the middle, so to speak. In addition, history has examples of mixed who used their ability to cross the line freely to infiltrate and take information back to the insurrectionists. We have plenty of them today, insurrectionists. (e.g. Haiti)
So, neither side really trusts them, and when they start in with the "racist" stuff, it sometmes falls flat, as it did with KH during the primaries.
Sure. There is a chapter in James Michner's "Carribbean," about Haiti and Dominican Republic. It has been a while, but I'll try. There is detailed the rich history of Haiti, including the famous slave revolt. In the course of telling the story, the white colonists were especially concern.ed about a mullatto preacher who was encouraging insurrection. The book discussed how the colonists were concerned about the mulatto in that mulattos often had influence over both black and white. They were thought to be particularly dangerous. That was called the Curse of Tortuga, mulattos turning on colonists, waging bloody insurrections.

Can you elaborate on your point in which you mentioned Haiti?
