Exactly this whole slavery thing isn’t really a productive point of discussion. Everyone in history has had shitty things happen to them, there is no end to the discussion, where does it end? Egypt paying reparations to Israel for Ramses the 3rd? Focus on the present and future for fucks sake, not 200 years ago.
This. Just to expand on a little further; every race has enslaved every race (yes, this includes their own race as well).
The first official slave holder (where the slave being indentured for life was not held as the verdict of a sentence for a crime) in North America was a black man (Anthony Johnson) that brought a case to the court of the colony of Virginia and they determined after one ruling and an appeal to that ruling won his case to own a black man (John Casor) as a slave (as opposed to releasing him from indentured servitude after his contract was noted as fulfilled).
Irish being coerced or forced into indentured servitude (not technically slavery, you were still supposed to have rights as an indentured servant) was very prominent from the 17th century onward as well. Often times the treatment of the Irish was far worse than that of Black slaves.
Blacks also kept slaves as well
Every race has been enslaved. I wish we could all just move the fuck on.
woah, and ruin the narrative control? I DUN SINK SO!
But only Western culture did abolition.

Look what they did to us scots. So we took America
Can we get the Africans that still allow slavery today to cut it out, and then move on?
I'm Slavic, I want my reparations from the Muslims.
Muslims still chop their dicks off and enslave them to this day.
