I'd still self-identify as a liberal, but I'm definitely not a democrat or a socialist or a communist or a progressive. I believe in the literal definition of the word liberal, as in "do what you want as long as you don't hurt me or anyone else"

For instance, If you want to say you're trans then be my fucking guest, but I draw the line when they try to indoctrinate kids into it, and put them on hormone blockers and shit, or try to FORCE people to submit to their self-image and pander to them.

I think the actual term I'd use is "classical liberal," which nowadays is basically just a moderate conservative with some social liberal and libertarian leanings.

I'm in favour of reasonable social services like basic universal healthcare (I'm Canadian) for essential treatments like emergency room and basic healthcare services, and a basic welfare safety net, but I think it should only be the bare minimum to help someone struggling get back on their feet, rather than a system that can be gamed and lived off of.
