If this is accurate, I may start sharing the sentiment some already have--that Trump is divinely inspired.

He isn't God, but could CERTAINLY be divinely inspired.

Thats what it is to Abide in His Light. Everything becomes surreal in the most mystical way possible. He's a sinner like us.

Praise. Trump must ask Him every day "if it is Your will father, let it be done."

February 10, 2007

"There will be a praying President, not a religious one. For I will fool the people, yes I will." God says, "The one that is chosen shall go in and they shall say 'he has hot blood.'" For the spirit of God says, "yes, he may have hot blood, but he will bring the walls of protection on this country in a greater way and the economy of this country shall change rapidly," says the Lord of hosts. Listen to the word of the Lord. God says, "I will put at your helm for two terms a President that will pray, but he will not be a praying President when he starts. I will put him in office and then I will baptize him with the Holy Spirit and My power," says the Lord of hosts.

April 4th, 2007

"Trump shall become a trumpet!" says the Lord. No, you didn't hear me. (pause) Trump shall become a trumpet. Are you listening to me? I will raise up the Trump to become a Trumpet.

Chills.... honestly... like I said, I'm not religious.. but this really makes you think. Especially how Trump has become much more religious the past 4 years.

-10
Texas_Hobo -10 points ago +6 / -16

Being religious is stupid. Had little to do with being an actual Christian.

Christ sort of pooped all over the "religious" in his time.

You should check out Jesus. Cool guy. N

5
wumao 5 points ago +6 / -1

I follow religion because of the values it teaches but what I mean is that I don't really dive into prophecies and superstitions and that sort of thing. I'm probably the most agnostic religious person there is. I believe there is tremendous value in believing and practicing religion, but more of me believes that the "visions" all the people in the bible had and all the stories came from early humans tripping the fuck out on mushrooms and acacia.

41
aaafirefly123 41 points ago +41 / -0

I believe that God is using Trump to combat literal demons in Washington D.C.

I use to think such talk was crazy (even as a Christian) but the behavior of Trump’s enemies has all convinced me otherwise.

It's hard to walk the line between being honest about race issues and not be perceived as a "racist", but diplomacy is the only way to avoid violence and so we have to be able to talk about things honestly.

4
HockeyMom4Trump 4 points ago +4 / -0

Agreed. Very Weird!

45
Choppa_Pilot 45 points ago +48 / -3

Blockchain isn't foolproof, and in fact could make cheating easier. Basically if a majority of all the computers that host ledgers agree with a result, then that result is considered "true".

But who controls the computers where the ledgers are stored?!

In theory, someone who controlled enough nodes in the network could forge an incorrect result and then force the rest of the network to accept it as "true".

We'd be replacing the Electoral College with computers. This is a nightmare.

30
Marble68 [S] 30 points ago +30 / -0

Not necessarily.

The only national piece could be the national voter registry.

Then, each county's post office could host the ledger, along with the cities and counties and state.

Such fraud would be extremely easy to identify, and in litigation (inevitable in such a circumstance) the ledger could be verified.

18
I_Am_My_Own_God 18 points ago +18 / -0

You could also allow individual citizen's to host the ledger as well. Obfuscate the voter but make the vote public.

2
grumpoh 2 points ago +4 / -2

The post offices run by liberal unions are going to host a server with only a single field guy in the regional office who has the slightest idea how to operate it? That doesn't sound ripe for fraud... Who is running the spyware/virus checks? Is the code 100% open source and reviewable? How do we verify the build isn't modified prior to installation?

Blockchain is cool, but there are so many problems left unsolved.

22
PoohClimbsTrees 22 points ago +23 / -1

Set up correctly this could be the most secure form of voting possible with current technology.

Everyone had the same concern about Bitcoin and it is still going strong.

5

yes because fools dont realize bitcoin HAS a backdoor and was invented in langley what in the 1940s...

folks getting played ...we owe trump 4 years

4
Anus_Blenders_ 4 points ago +4 / -0

2
chickyrogue 2 points ago +2 / -0

i think it was bill binney or american intelligence media who first exposed the back door to bitcoin

i do beleive it was tommie williams who recently mentioned it was actually developed in the 40s post ww2

everything we have been told is true is fake fake fake

-1
308freedom -1 points ago +1 / -2

Yeah, but WHICH flavor/fork of Bitcoin is actually going strong and suitable for a task like this?

16
PoohClimbsTrees 16 points ago +16 / -0

None.

Bitcoin is just one example of blockchain usage.

Voting with a blockchain would have nothing to do with the Bitcoin blockchain.

5
308freedom 5 points ago +5 / -0

Fair enough. As long as the code is open and can be reviewed by anyone, it could be doable.

4
theantirobot 4 points ago +4 / -0

Block chain is the next big technology like the internet. Bitcoin and all its flavors are just like early websites.

11
gorillachannel 11 points ago +11 / -0

51% attacks are not possible on Ethereum. The network is far too large. If this were possible, the billions of dollars worth of assets secured on the network would quickly be stolen or become worthless.

Furthermore, not only would such an attack be immediately detected, it would necessarily be public. The miracle of such technology is that all votes can be verified by anyone without revealing anyone's vote. But any given voter can also verify that their vote was counted correctly.

It's hard to wrap your head around the potential. But understand that we are not talking about a mysql database.

0
almond_activator 0 points ago +1 / -1

If this were possible, the billions of dollars worth of assets secured on the network would quickly be stolen or become worthless.

Only if it is found to be worth the effort. If the NSA decides to spin up their Utah datacenter for a purpose, or Russia/China/Germany/etc. decides to do the same, you'll never see it coming.

1
gorillachannel 1 point ago +1 / -0

Government and academic data centers are orders of magnitude smaller than the top three blockchains. It's not even close.

5
Sargentpilcher 5 points ago +5 / -0

I don't think you understand how blockchain works.

It can be as permission as you want it to be. You think they'd let anybody run a node?

4
gorillachannel 4 points ago +4 / -0

The basic function of a blockchain is to make the data trustless so that anyone can run a node and the data is verified to be untampered. The security of a blockchain depends on a large number of distributed nodes. The effect is essentially to make security a function of hashpower or incentive structure.

Putting the data on a private government blockchain would only guarantee that the data can be manipulated and cannot be publicly verified, which is no better than any website.

1
Sargentpilcher 1 point ago +2 / -1

But if anybody can run a node, that's how you get the wrong side with nodes and claiming fraud where one exists.

1
gorillachannel 1 point ago +1 / -0

A 51% attack is not possible on any of the top blockchains. They are far too large.

1
rootGoose 1 point ago +3 / -2

...make the data trustless...

No. That’s not the purpose of any part of distributed ledgers and blockchains.

1
gorillachannel 1 point ago +1 / -0

No elaboration? I can do this too.

I'm right. You're wrong. QED

1
rootGoose 1 point ago +1 / -0

Trustless is misused, even in blockchains. What a [distributed] blockchain does is:

“...minimize the amount of trust required from any single actor in the system.“

This use of “trustless” doesn’t apply to custom ledgers that assign verifying nodes, that is: are not distributed to anyone who wants to participate, such as Chy-Na would like to when it comes to our voting.

2
gorillachannel 2 points ago +2 / -0

The term is also employed in describing extremely low-trust systems.

https://vitalik.ca/general/2020/08/20/trust.html

2
rootGoose 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks for that link.

I get (now) why ‘trustless’ is used: there is no need to verify the identities (nor the entities behind them) of the parties in the transaction nor worry about them following through on a transaction.

That is: when a browser encrypts a site it verifies that a centralized authority issued a site’s certificate.

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0
1
Choppa_Pilot 1 point ago +1 / -0

No, I don't think they'd let just anybody run a node. But how do we know we can trust the people who are running them?

This system seems like it would totally eliminate the paper trail for voting and that makes me very uncomfortable.

3
cybertoke 3 points ago +3 / -0

locked servers, in local courthouses, deployed to counties by the Fed/election committee. Only those authorised by the committee can direct access.

The most that anyone else (including those who guard the servers) can do is turn them on or off.

2
Sargentpilcher 2 points ago +2 / -0

you don't need a paper trail in blockchain. The exact same functionality exists in digital form.

2
Houdini 2 points ago +2 / -0

If sufficiently distributed, it should be nearly impossible to corrupt even with nation-state level resources.

Exactly.

Imagine, even if not the perfect voter ID system, Trump simply says "ok, we can do voter ID. We'll mail every registered voter a voter ID. Anyone not registered can vote in person or by provisional ballot"

The Dems would shit the bed.

20
deleted 20 points ago +20 / -0
71
Marble68 [S] 71 points ago +71 / -0

in 2017, the USPS applied for a provisional patent on a secure voting system using blockchain and voter ID.

Edit -> [For clarification, this isn't necessarily a physical ID]

In Feb 2019, they applied for another.

It was just revealed.

In effect, the system would give everyone a national voter ID. that would be matched to state level voting registrations.

Ballots would be created and the voter ID would be used to claim a ballot.

The registered voter would use their voter ID and the ballot to cast an anonymous, auditable, encrypted vote.

And they would do it by mail, but the USPS secure vote by mail system patent relied on voter ID.

With this revelation, the USPS might just be the vehicle to implement a national voter ID system, which makes total sense.

As well - the leverage this gives Trump against vote by mail is "we have a system that's been in development for 3 years, so if we're going to do vote by mail here's how the USPS would do it, we create a national voter ID database and match those to ballots, anonymously. No exposure to virus and it secures vote by mail."

It calls the Dem's bluff on vote by mail and if they backpeddle hard because it would be a vehicle to institute national voter ID, they'll look like idiots.

They just sent checks out.

Give every us citizen an ID; registered or not.

Still have to register be registered to vote (according the patent) - it uses the voter registration roles at the state level.

4
Marble68 [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

True - unless they're ready?

Plus, after the stimulus, they have a very up to date database.

Or, maybe it'd be as simple as going to the post office and showing your ID, and getting registered - and it'd match to your existing voter registration.

"Congratulations, you can vote by mail, here's your ballot"

4
NYC_4_Trump 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think the Dems goofed.

They shrieked about how “voting in person will kill you” but there is no appetite for voting by mail.

So, if anything, Dems suppressed their own base. Those people won’t vote by mail, and may sit this one out.

Alternatively, they know there is absentee voting (which is possibly more secure than voting in person.) They can use that if they’re that afraid of voting in person.

I'm posting it where hard lefties will see it - calling it the USPS Vote By Mail National Voter ID Blockchain system.

LOL.

7
Marble68 [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

It doesn't work without Voter ID.

-3
Proud_American -3 points ago +1 / -4

"A voting system can use the security of blockchain and the mail to provide a reliable voting system," the patent application says. "A registered voter receives a computer readable code in the mail and confirms identity and confirms correct ballot information in an election. The system separates voter identification and votes to ensure vote anonymity, and stores votes on a distributed ledger in a blockchain."

This is not voter ID. Anyone who has a drivers license will be on the registry. They will vote just the same as they are now by way of the “motor voter” laws.

7
Marble68 [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

Check the illustrations - it's tied into voter registrations at state and national level, and a voter database.

The process says the voter has to verify their identity.

It doesn't say voter ID, but accomplishes the same thing.

-2
Proud_American -2 points ago +3 / -5

It sends registered voters a code. That’s your identity. Dead grandma can still get a code and anyone willing to break the law could use it. All the illegals who are given drivers licenses will be on the registry and get a code.

This patent ensures correct counting as it separates the personal info from the vote tally. It doesn’t get a photo or thumbprint verification to verify eligibility. If you’re on the role, you get a code. True voter ID would require a picture be taken and used at the time of voting. This would make it a lot harder to cheat, especially if the ID requires proof of citizenship.

Anything less, IMO, is more conditioning of our minds to accept permanent mail-in voting.

6
Marble68 [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

Welp - I'm going to keep calling it a national voter ID vote by mail system to trigger leftists. :)
