Correct. That is what sin is, what human nature is. That is why we have The Bible. It is a guide to creating a successful and flourishing nation. Christ is the personification of Logos, reason. When you look at myths from other religions, most notably monotheistic ones, and compare them to paganism and atheism, it is obvious why only 1 religion has been so successful in the West that has resulted in the founding of so many great nations. Paganism suggests that sins and emotions are due to the pantheon of gods, represented by the planets or unseen forces.

Judaism and monotheism acknowledged original sin and the worship of one God, a God of logic and reason above all else. Christianity took it even further to recognize empathy and dispose of the mistaken ideas of an earthly reward in favor of a divine one. It provides purpose, rejects wickedness and sin, and establishes that ANYBODY is capable of achieving because we are all created with equal rights in the image of God. Even in the times of Christian monarchy, in the Merovingian and Carolingian eras, the king was never treated as divine like the pharaohs, but rather divinely chosen due to the circumstance of birthright- something only God could control. What is most important for a society is to have concrete moral virtues and to worship God, otherwise we destroy ourselves. God is the personification of reason and our collective conscience, worship of him will always result in the common good. The problem is that this idea has been coopted by corrupt earthly organizations.
