This one really seems useless and pandering. His base is gonna say the same thing.... "meh" and the other side is gonna say pandering. What good does this really do? Also, free Assange.
Annnnd the crowd goes mild. I get the timing, it's the 100 year anniversary of the 19th amendment, but it seems silly to pardon a dead person. She was found guilty and charged a fine, which she didn't pay, it's not like she spent time in prison.
Assange won't be pardoned in an election year guys, if it happens at all, it will be 2nd term.
Representatives of the Susan B Anthony List were there. If you don't know, the Susan B. Anthony List is an organization of pro-life women who are civic minded and dedicated to the actual health and safety of women and children. I think this was an excellent decision on the president's part to show his support for the continual struggle American women have in regards to pro-life healthcare, freedom from discrimination due to pregnancy and other issues. That you aren't aware of the group, just shows how biased our media has become. The SBAL should be a household name. I'll tell ya right now, Democrat establishment types and operatives definitely know about SBAL.
My hope is that this is a way for Trump to test the waters on who to pardon. By pardoning a dead person he risks nothing, but by announcing in advance that he would be pardoning someone, he gets people talking. When people are talking, he can listen and hopefully act on that information later.
I think that was the point of this, he’s floating a trial balloon for pardoning Assange and at the same time sending a message to the deep state that they better stop fucking around or he’s going to go nuclear on them.
The left Loved wikileaks until the Hillary / Podesta / DNC email traunches which were IIRC 3 separate traunches within maybe the same 1-2 yr timeperiod. Then they screeched RUSSIA RUSSIA forgetting that immediately after the DNC leaks, Wikileaks released the Russia files. These people are very stupid
Wikileaks is there to keep governemnts 'honest', and doen't play sides. I haven't checked in a while but I bet you there are Trumpleaks in there
I'm sure there are and that's fine. I want all the real dirt on politicians even if I like them.
It's hard to believe anyone who is in our government is totally clean, but I will say that they'd parade out any Trump leaks like they're the next coming of Christ.
Guys, he isn’t pardoning Assange or Snowden until after the election. I know in this community people think they are heroes, but there are a lot of Republicans and independents who have the opposite view.
I am personally indifferent. I don’t think Assange will have nearly as much influence if he is no longer wanted by the US. And Snowden is just another Bernie loving cuck that we would be letting back into the country.
I just explained why he hasn’t pardoned him yet. I personally know tons of Republicans that despise Assange. If Trump pardons him, it will be something he does on his last day in office.
I agree about Snowden. My biggest problem with him is that he didn’t reveal anything that we didn’t already know. It was like he was doing it for political reasons and to get attention. And what is his solution? Elect people like Bernie who say they want to “end corruption” when in reality they would just be making the government way more powerful. Snowden is kind of a huge idiot. I blame the soy.
Sure, many people knew generally of our government's illegal spying, but they didn't have much proof and were often called crazy conspiracy theorists. Snowden releasing the documents proved it beyond a doubt and showed the extent to be much more massive that anyone thought. Proof is important.
100 years of women voting and we are where we are. Universal suffrage always kills a republic.
Look at it this way; if no women voted, democrats would lose all 50 states. Just check the data.
That said, I also believe that people on social assistance should not be allowed to vote for, nor for a period after getting off of it. You shouldn't be able to vote on a system you're dependent on getting income from.
Meh
Yeah, don't always get your hopes up for these types of announcements.
This one really seems useless and pandering. His base is gonna say the same thing.... "meh" and the other side is gonna say pandering. What good does this really do? Also, free Assange.
It forced me to look up why she was being pardoned and for what
“Anthony, who died in 1906, had been arrested in 1872 for violating laws that had permitted only men to vote.”
Those laws were just!
haha jk....
....unless?
It's still a great move because good luck spinning this one Dems

Women should not have the right to vote or run for office. Thier brains ain't made for leadership, they are made nurturing. Stop denial of nature.
I think it's a good move. Wemon were more opressed than black men at one point.
Lol not that I care, but steer the victimhood lenses this way. Throw a wrench in their games.

No offense but this entire reply sounds almost exactly what I would expect some leftist on reddit to say.
I think its a great thing to do to honor women and free and fair voting (as opposed to the voting scam the democrats are trying to pull)
But it accomplishes nothing, thereby making it a pandering action.
She's dead. There's nothing that this 'pardon' does for her, her lineage or her history.
Pardoning Assange, Snowden or even some random dumbfuck who got arrested on a non-violent pot charge would have been more productive.
It is, but have bigger fish to fry right now. This isn't going to help the vote. This isn't going to help dismantle the deep state.
Feel the way you want to feel, but don't become reddit by calling everyone with a dissenting opinion the enemy
Great username lol
Also... this is the kind of shit a politician does. WTF is happening to our guy? WE DONT WANT A FUCKING POLITICIAN!

I don't think he can. She was a state level prosecutor. Presidents can only pardon federal charges.
Did you see all the support for pardoning Assange at least? Thats encouraging, I had thought he might have been forgotten by many.
Now fire AG Demers who went after Flynn and is going after Assange and pardon or just drop the charges against Assange

It could still happen, Trump likes to test the waters
I'm sure it's on GEOTUS's radar.
This hits home.
Oof. Accurate.

I wish he could void Bradley Manning's pardon.
ASSANGE YES
SNOWDEN NO
How about posthumously pardoning Seth Rich?

It's not all 50 states, but we would have won 350 electorates if only men voted. Hillary would have won with over 450 electorates if only women voted. That margin is much higher.
The only "all 50 states" scenarios are for non-white demographics. "No matter how POC is broken down, it was always 100% blue."
