Yes, the Susan B Anthony dollar was detested. Just a little larger than a quarter so it was easy to mix them up. A pain in the ass for cashiers and tellers. It was ugly and universally unloved. We called it the "Carter quarter". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_B._Anthony_dollar#Reception

I really wish we adopted a really good dollar coin though the Sacajawea dollar is pretty good, but never used.
It’s the only thing I think the euro commie trash do better: dollar coins.
Sac and Presidential dollars look cheap and tarnish very quickly. Some of the designs are really ugly as well. The original design for the Carter quarter was much better IMO: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_B._Anthony_dollar#/media/File:Gasparro_Liberty_obverse.jpeg
What huge missed opportunity! I'm so glad you shared that.
The relief alone is impressive.
Even if they had put the profile of Susan Bun Anthony it would have been really good.
IMO, the only thing that could have saved the Anthony dollar would be to have made it as large as the Eisenhower dollar.
You might be right. Eisenhower dollars were popular. The original design reminds me of the Peace dollar.
I like the Sacajawea dollars, I wish more places gave them out as change
