The pics would be from what, the 90s? That's really early digital photography there. Nearly all photos back then were film, and scanning them to put online would require intention to do so, not just an easy upload from a phone.
There's definitely something odd there in those "junk pics" but this theory is a strange one, given that pics of her as a kid look like a girl, and her masculine African features don't make her a dude because she's compared to to a petite white woman.
