Machiavelli says release all the bad news at once at the good news bit by bit. This is the opposite.

I believe that’s talking about if you’re the one that committed the wrong doings. It’s better for you to release it all at once. If it’s good news it’s better for you to trickle it out so you look like a saint. If you’re trying to hurt someone’s reputation you do it the opposite way.
