This is the equivalent of throwing the Monopoly board when you don't think you can win. Stop the whining and self-imposed victimhood, learn proper English, and show "them" up. THAT would be "sticking it to them."

Also, why is every single college course used to promote this nonsense? Every. Single. One.

They’re acting like English is common core.

I doubt that "star-anise" is capable of making the distinction.

Yep it sure is hard for certain communities to speak English. I guess the evil plan worked.

First of all, English, grammatically, is objectively one of the easiest languages to learn, which is one of the reasons it has replaced French as the universal language. We have relatively few conjugations as compared to any other European language.

Secondly, English has lots of rules and exceptions because it’s NOT a Romance language. It was influenced by Romance languages and Germanic languages (and I believe one other main influence), so there are obviously going to be some inconsistencies.

But alas, it’s all because of racism and classism.

In other words, "I flunked fifth-grade English class, so the English language is, like, super fucking dumb!"

The spelling and grammar in this posts are remarkably consistent. I can only assume it was written by a racist.

You know Arabic? Cool! I heard it’s one of the most difficult languages for native English speaker to learn.

Water. Water is not racist.

g00se2k 5 points ago +5 / -0

Wow, check your fucking privilege dude. Water's molecular structure is H2O. Notice how there are TWO hydrogen atoms per ONE oxygen atom. The letter "H" appears in the word wHite but not in the word black, so water is literally racist because it perpetuates the systemic racism of white people making twice as much money as black people in the work force. #BoronLivesMatter #RacistChemistry #JusticeforGusFring

History of the English Language was a great class. Basically, anything weird with it that was standarized is because of the French.

Imagine getting so butthurt about such meaningless shit. I bet they don't give a rat-fuck about Margaret Sanger's opinions of black people and abortion clinics and the origins of planned parenthood. More selective outrage from morons addicted to selective outrage.

English is one of the most basic languages grammar-wise. Ortography can barely be classified as grammar.

What English does have that is indeed a little troublesome is extensive vocabulary borrowed simultaneously from different sources, producing both "lunar module" (latin root) and "moon landing" (commonspeak) or "sun" and "solar"; "earthquake" and "seismic activity" etc. The cult mode of the language seems "disconnected" because it really is.
