The mysterious announcement that a big-name pardon was coming, was the Trump war room's way of collecting data. IMHO.
It gave them opportunity to measure the reaction and analyze public opinion. Think of it like a secret poll. Everyone in the MSMDNC and everyone speculating on social media provided a long list of names, along with pros and cons for each possible choice.

There are always two sides but history is trying really hard to only show one side of that part. You've got to ask yourself, given what you're seeing in modern media vs what you'll see on social media what possible alternative historical events would have led folks to institute segregation? After seeing all the broken and destroyed cities I'm more inclined than ever to believe my "racist" grandma who clarified that the unequal drinking fountain situation was because someone in their own community kept breaking the black drinking fountains and eventually the janitors stopped buying matching units and went with the cheapest replacement option. I'm sure more than a few were broken by whites but given the current situation I'm not blaming the cities for replacing them with whatever would survive the continued destruction.

You need to consider context. Put yourself in his shoes. Think about what he was fighting against. Racist Dems who believed a black person was less than human and that the state should own and control black people.

Women have access to voting with an unequal social burden. I have no desire to take away their vote, but I believe it was a mistake. With extreme nuance though. I oppose a single mother being able to vote to take a soldier's taxes as welfare. If a lumberjack can output far more than a lumber jill, then they are not equal, and it is not fair that a woman can vote for laws that prevent hiring discrimination for the more productive gender. (Strictly for physical jobs. Not computers.) There are great women who deserve to vote way more than crappy men. I cant think of a single way to implement "my vision" for sufferage in a functional way, but Susan B Anthony in particular was a crappy agitator and shouldnt be pardoned.
