Pedes, this is the same shit (blackouts) that got Gray Davis recalled. I’ve seen in local news Newsom supposedly “acting” on this unacceptable shit and demanding PG&E stop the blackouts. Lol political talk nonsense. The guy is afraid of the bad publicity especially during this recall campaign.
Idk how you figure that but it's definitely not x4, $25 to $175, depending on the "value", my 25+-year-old truck only went up about 10% and so did my almost 20-year-old Jeep. It's still too much, one way or another, but not x4, although, soon enough it'll get there.
A hot-button issue that seemed to galvanize the public was the vehicle license fee increase Davis implemented under provisions of legislation passed by his predecessor which originally reduced the fees.[16] On June 20, 2003, the Davis administration re-instituted the full vehicle license fee, and the action withstood legal challenge. The action was a key step in the plan to close the $38 billion shortfall in the 2003–2004 budget. The increase tripled the vehicle license fee for the average car owner, and began appearing in renewal notices starting August 1.
When Gray Davis was recalled and Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected governor in October 2003, Schwarzenegger vowed that his first act as governor would be to revoke the vehicle license fee increase.
Oooooh, sorry, I thought we were talking about 2018 hikes. Yes, you are right, and I totally forgot about that, shit's close to 20 years ago! I guess it can be forgivable in my fragile age :p
Davis' screwup was a bigger area. Newsom already gaslighted people into believing he was fixing the energy companies' mistakes when he "attacked" PG&E, which funded his campaign.

Seems like people were more pissed about car registration going up x4 than anything.
Yeah, that motivated people more but the electricity thing was just the icing

Ok, tripled.

Are you talking about now? I'm talking about reasons Davis got recalled.

I remember, and here's hoping for a repeat.
If you can't even keep the lights on, you've failed the most basic part of being an executive.
