There is unfortunately a deep energy deficit here, much of the People's Republic of California's electricity is produced in other states... because they shutdown nuclear and other plants to trying to be "green". They spent ridiculous amounts of money on worthless windmills and solar farms that don't produce enough energy when we need it, and rather than pay more for the out-of-state energy we need to makeup for the failed "renewables", they'd rather just have black-outs during a heatwave.
Don’t forget Brown and Newsom’s grand plan for the bullet train to nowhere! What’s the bill now - $90 billion and counting? That’s where every cent of “infrastructure” money has gone for the last 10 years. And Newsom is STILL yammering on about how he’s going to “require” all vehicles to be electric by 2024, or residents will have to pay big fines to use the highways. He’s also busy installing a “yearly highway usage fee” for every vehicle in California. They are going to require a transponder on your vehicle so they can calculate the exact miles you drive in CA every year and bill you per mile yearly on your vehicle registration.

It was the raised car registration prices that got Gov. Gray Davis recalled and put the "republican" Governator in office. Maybe California can be turned again.
