Oops, pardon. Radio traffic can be pinpointed easily using direction finding antennas. Amateur operators will hold 'fox and hound' events where a hidden transmitter is hunted down by swarms of folks with all manner of directional antennae, most of it homebrew. A well coordinated team can narrow down the fox to a 20m radius with just two lines of bearing from a mile away.
To sum up, every time you key your radio is an opportunity for someone to pinpoint your location. Just something to be aware of as you operate.

If you're going to operate FRS/GMRS, get an FRS/GMRS radio. The extra couple watts on a Baofeng don't give you any more distance or gain to speak of, plus they splatter all over the damn place. If you want to use a Baofeng, get your ham radio license and use it legally.
Those $30 Baofengs are the bane of existence for a lot of ops - untrained and unlicensed people TX over repeater inputs, WX stations, lock and dam channels, railroad frequencies, you name it. It's goddamn infuriating.
