So the only real reason I still use reddit is for hobby communities. I build, paint and play miniature wargames. It's a really fun hobby and I've gotten quite good at it. These online communities are one of the few positive uses for social media. I like to post pictures of something I've painted and browse other people's paint jobs.

But reddit has become so fucking toxic that I can't even do this anymore. I just had to unsub from all the main Games Workshop communities because they've become a bunch of virtue signalling assholes, going on about how the hobby has been overrun with nazis because there's a YouTuber who's made some edgy jokes (gasp, the horror) and as we all know, you can't make off-color jokes unless you are a straight up, homophobic, sexist, racist. So this is totally proof that the guy is a full-blown, mein-kampf-reading, SS-wannabee nahtzee and the community has to comment about it at every available opportunity. And if you aren't willing to shit all over them and call them a nahtzee too then you must be a secret homophobic, sexist, racist yourself.

Or my favorite, when somebody posts about how they wish the community could just knock off the politics and the thread quickly devolves into lefties going on about how the far right is so much worse than the far left, as if communism didn't kill magnitudes more people than the nazis could've ever dreamed.

I'm so fucking sick of this shit. Can we just get this fucking civil war on already so we can purge this bullshit from our culture and I can go back to enjoying my free time instead of watching every aspect of my life get invaded by these assholes?

Sorry. I really needed to rant and I don't have anywhere else to do it.
