No, but some of us can pretend to be. I was looking forward to seeing UWF play this year, after winning the DII championship, but COVID killed that. I didn't realize they were that good (for DII).
We had such a fun team last year. We almost won it a couple years ago too, in our 2nd year of football, losing to Texas A&M-Commerce and that fucker Luis Perez who has bounced around the secondary pro leagues (AAF and XFL). That UWF team was more of a grinding, run-happy team though, like watching a game in the 1960s.
Last year's team was way better. Austin Reed has a cannon with amazing accuracy, and it's crazy that he was a freshman last year. Losing Tate Lehtio as a safety valve hurts; shame he didn't even get looked at in the pros. He had all the tools to be like a Adam Thielen or Julian Edelman. Our defense only got better as the year went on, against some stacked competition. I still think our team can build again, and Pete Shinnick is the right man to lead it. He's the Emerald Coast's Ditka!
