Most likely escaping the high taxes of OR. WA has no state income tax

Washington is a good place to make money - no income tax. But Oregon is a good place to spend money - lower taxes and no sales tax. As an example, liquor is 40% (!) cheaper in Oregon.

Both are mostly red outside of the big cities.

At some stores in Portland, you can get quality merchandise for up to 100% off the normal retail price.

I'm happy to keep my income in Washington, and spend it in Oregon.

I screw both states (and get cheap booze)!
