"karma" is pointless, especially here. Eliminate the up/down vote mechanic. If you disagree with a post or a point, respond with a post of your own.
Alternatively, display who has up or down voted a post. lets see the numbers.

I know some people are absolutely obsessed with dislikes and likes, I’ve been attacked on this site for saying something that someone didn’t approve of and didn’t realize that I care less about likes or dislikes. I’m all about freedom of speech.
