...last Friday the university subjected Negy to an “investigative interview” that was one of the most Kafkaesque things I have seen in my 15 years advising students and faculty about campus disciplinary matters. For four straight hours, UCF’s investigator grilled Negy about accusations stemming directly from his classroom pedagogy, having made no effort to weed out the countless accusations that were obviously just critiques of his choice of teaching material. UCF also made no effort to consolidate allegations, repeatedly asking Negy variations of the same question, ad infinitum. And again, virtually all of these questions related directly to Negy’s pedagogy, which deals with unavoidably controversial subjects. When Negy, physically and emotionally exhausted after four hours of interrogation, asked if the interview was almost over, we learned that the investigator had not even gotten halfway through her list of accusations. Since he could take no more, another five-hour inquisition was scheduled for the following week.
I'm a professor at a major state University and I can't tell you how muzzled I feel in my ability to say anything that challenges the liberal agenda. I do anyway. Tactfully and always using facts and personal experiences as delivery - but I can tell you they then look for any reason to fire or get rid of you.
Academia in its current state isn't just the fault of professors it's the administrators and staffers that are the true culprits of these witch hunts. University used to be a faculty centric institution with learning at its core and staff and administrators were there to help and assist. Now the reverse is true. Faculty now live in constant fear of the lurking admins who really don't value the educational element of the professors. Teaching is just an inconvenience. They want the money from the students and believe the "experience" is the product and not the education. Then they are power hungry people who have to justify their made up position of no value so, they set out to impose power and kingdom build.
To be honest (and I say this as a well respected faculty member) I don't think I would ever send my kids to University unless their goals were doctor, lawyer, engineer or science..... Maybe certain disciplines of business. Other than that, not going to happen. The place is too corrupt and such a complete waste of either your money or sets your kids up for a poor financial position. And the money just goes to pay the salaries of the above mentioned, worthless administrators.
"and chief diversity officer addressed the content" welp, there's your problem right there. These diversity officers at ethe beginning of the end for any school or business.
Man, it's so weird that I use to go there back in like 2009. I definitely went for the wrong degree, a digital arts one, had some trouble, enlisted and am much better off for it.
If you live in Orlando, it felt like graduating from UCF was the dream goal, you'd be "the man" for accomplishing it. They use to be very STEM focused but maybe that's changed?
This is very similar to what happened to a UNCW professor. They made a deal to have him "retire" on August 1st (which would pay him $500k). Oddly enough, less than a week before his retirement, he was found dead of a self inflicted gunshot wound.
Like police and a court system that works?
Yeah right
Or at least one that doesn't target the people trying to stop them. That's what law enforcement does these days. Protects the rioters.
The only ones out there in the street are Proud Boys.
These people need to be jailed for domestic terroisim
Defund the universities.
Sounds a lot like a struggle session.
What we need is a defense fund for Liberty.
We need a bunch of conservative professors to open a conservative college. With hookers and cocaine.
Everything is a rich mans trick

Man can we hunt them down now? Pleeeeeeease.
Where in Florida?
According to the article, it's UCF. Make's sense that it would be Orlando.
