Work and other things shouldn't get in the way of how this country elects it's officials. Prove me wrong

In most states, you can't be fired for leaving work to go vote. There are protections in place, check them out here.

Obviously, you may be asking for more or something slightly different, but there's a balance of time for those who would take advantage of it, and you would win nearly any court case if you were fired for going to vote.

All making voting a national holiday will do is give government workers, who vote Democrat, the day off and maybe the financial sector if they adopt a bank holiday.

The rest of us hard-working Americans will have to go to work, like every other day. Pass.

There are so many options here. Remember we are in a pandemic so different solutions might be warranted. Why not hire ppl at like $20 or $25 an hour to work the polls 24x7 for a few days leading into the election? along with granting the two days prior as a holiday. That would give plenty of time to social distance and get everyone though.
