Some SJW in Goodyear's HR department is probably about to get fired over that slide they made saying BLM apparel is allowed but MAGA apparel isn't.

No way one person in hr could be allowed to make a policy that alienates half the american voting population (with more rural suburban and probably driving voters...)... this is jusy plain retarded. Eagerly watching stock price

Didn't blue collar workers vote more for Trump too? Those are the mechanics who recommend what tires you should get. A 25 year old basement dwelling leftist doesn't know anything about tires, lol.

These manufacturing plants are in rural or industrial areas. Who do they think live and work in those areas? In NC you're out in the middle of nowhere with a high school educated work force and it's the only good job for miles.

The left hates cars, they think everyone should ride solar powered bicycles. Pretty sure the motorsports industry is dying because of all the soy.

Notice their wording; they are framing their stance with the idea that BLM is purely about equity and isn't political, whereas the shunned statements are not about equity and MAGA is explicitly political.

Equity is a very left political ideal and is just as political as MAGA or Blue Lives Matter.

I hope GEOTUS can point this out in the debates because they will bring it up. "Why do you criticize BLM, Mr. President? Do you support white privilege?"

That or he can just point out the hypocrisy of Goodyear allowing BLM expressions but not other pro-American expressions.

Yeah, "equity" is specifically a social justice term. I got one of them to show me an essay once. Literally had a paragraph explaining that equality is the wrong word because it leaves out "fairness" and so they use the word "equity" instead.

It basically said every country in the world has a majority and a minority, and the majority holds the most power by virtue of being the majority. To achieve equity, the minority should behave in ways that disrupt and seize the majority's power.

Social justice basically calls for chaos in every country in the world, but they only apply its philosophy in capitalist countries.

Fuck their wording.

They think they're politicians and they think goodyear is the government and we have to put up with their shit.

WELCOME TO CAPITALISM, BITCH. I HAVE A CHOICE AND GUESS WHAT?

ANYTHING BUT GOODYEAR

Had this argument with my dad earlier about why BLM is political. Aside from the marxist manifesto, statements of leaders (and chants at "peaceful protests") you have the donations to ActBlue. They get away with murder, literally and metaphorically, because of a dishonest and cowardly media.

the keep hiring that lady who put Sports Authority under, she's at Dicks and look what's happening there

Wait, does this only apply to employees? Just an HR thing?

It's still dumb, but ever so slightly less so.

If they banned all political apparel at large, including democrat merch, it would be pretty sensible. Most workplaces are like this already and it’s a good thing, because the last thing people need is to have an underlying political friction with coworkers.

But if they banned specifically MAGA hats or Trump merch, they can get BTFO’d, especially so if they turned their flag into a rainbow for Pride month or black for BLM and don’t realize the hypocrisy.

Shame because I liked the blimp. I could take the kids to a baseball game and tell them about buoyancy during the hour long interludes between pitches.

They also banned Blue Lives Matter and All Lives Matter.

In other variations, itd be like banning all Christian necklaces and trinkets, but all muslim items are acceptable. This was an extremely stupid move by Goodyear and those folks who designed and signed off on this should absolutely be terminated. This is blatant and open workplace discrimination they’ve engaged in.

It could be argued that BLM isn't endorsing a specific candidate. Yes, we all know it is, but you could make the argument. Also does anyone know the specific wording of the rule.

Rule 23a.

"No items endorsing a political candidate or party may be worn, for example "MAGA" attire."

or

Rule 23a

"No items may be worn with the MAGA logo or statement on them".

Phrasing matters.

Also they didn't call out Biden wear, they specified MAGA wear. Pretty obvious that car guys lean towards Trump so the HR tards needed to crack down on it. Like you said, though, they have plausible deniability.

Luckily, this isn't a court of law, so we can still tell them to go fuck themselves and not buy their tires.

the_hoffman 4 points ago +4 / -0

I agree, but even if they didn’t pseudo-endorse the left, it is still political speech.

Same way that “support the 2nd amendment” shirts are still “political” even though it’s not directly an endorsement of the Republican Party.

3
zabbers 3 points ago +3 / -0

This isn't a court of law and we all know what they are really saying.

3
muslimporn 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't think any major company should be taking a side in politics or doing politics. They're making tires. There's hardly anything political about it. If they took a position on tax rates for something to do with tire production then I might understand but this is nothing to do with their business or product.

This isn't just political though. It's racial should disgust people even more especially as that's against the law.
