Fun fact about California wildfires you won’t see on the news. Ever since the feds starting clearing out and thinning the federal lands and giving grants to private landowners to do the same the fires have dramatically decreased. Forestry management actually works. Normally by this time of year the whole state is ablaze but for the past two years there has been minimal destruction, especially compared to years past. You can see the difference when you’re driving around. Now all we need to do is secede from the rest of the state and cut off the Bay Area water and hope for an earthquake.

California's water shortages are entirely artificial. There is an endangered fish called the delta smelt that even enviornmentalist say is already fucked if humans disappeared tomorrow. Despite it's inevitable doom, the water pumps have to be shut off after two buckets worth of the minnow have been sucked up, which leaves over half the usuable water to wash into the ocean.

Don't just cut off the water, hold it back. The Bay Area desperately needs a bath, and I know the geography makes it challenging, but I think if we dammed up enough water in the mountains, we could make it happen.
I have little doubt their are dams already there. But I don't know if they will hold sufficient water for a good FLUSH.
