I've heard of amateur drifters and race/time attack cars that typically burn through tires pretty quick using Federals and not hating them. Bonus that the company is from Taiwan, so like the opposite of CCP.

I just got four Firestone tires for my American car. They're the best tires I've ever owned, but I don't know about the company. Wish I could have researched more before I needed them.

it's what these stupid marketing professors are teaching in marketing 4.0. take a social stand. it's stupid as heck. look at the latest textbooks from Phillip Kotler. He thinks marketing is going to save the world. BARF.

http://www.philkotler.com/2018/11/28/brand-activism-from-purpose-to-action/

you make razor blades and soda. shut the heck up. let me shave and drink soda without you lecturing me what to believe.

20
digital_daisy 20 points ago +20 / -0

You're spot on in regards to what the PR departments are producing. They're obsessed with social media, and believe it's the only way to gauge public opinion. At Syracuse University, I saw a student PR project regarding a lower class minority school that had high truancy and low retention rates. What was the proposed solution? More social media outreach from the school and more bus transportation. They also refused to bring attention to what the family makeup looked like for the students in this district. The one example they illustrated was a two-income working/middle class nuclear family.

15
redstampede 15 points ago +15 / -0

What a piece of trash. Marketing is about maximizing the reach and positive perception of your brand. Nothing else matters in marketing: NOTHING. If you manage to go viral by pissing off half your customer base or more, you've just done a very bad thing.

Traditionally, if a company wanted to support a political platform they could simply do that through their choice of athletes and events to sponsor. Most of us wouldn't care. But push anything into our faces and we're gonna take a hard look at it, and the people pushing it.

13
AlohaSnackbar 13 points ago +13 / -0

Being married to high school girlfriend past 7 years is rarer than zebra unicorns. Congrats, you avoided being a statistic.

0
American-Patriot 0 points ago +1 / -1

What are the stats on that out of curiosity?

2
AlohaSnackbar 2 points ago +2 / -0

A fair question. The best "official" stats put teen marriage divorce rates at 59% at the 15 year mark. Which doesn't sound too bad, since that isn't too far off divorce rates in general.

15 years is an odd metric. It's used to justify the barbell shape of the pool. How many teens are getting married today? Or the last 25/30 years? Some, but not many. So a significant share of the data comes from grandparents married in the 50's, 60's, 70's when divorce just wasn't a thing.

Of course there are still teen marriages, not many, but some. So how do we account for them? Well, once we remove the three M's, Mormons, Muslims, and Mennonites, you aren't left with too many highschool sweethearts getting married over the last 20 + years who are still together.

While data isn't the plural of anecdote, I can't think of one couple from my 1300 student highschool who were still a thing after college. And I know of no current friends married to their highschool sweetheart. I do know some who WERE married, but who the heck is the same person they were at 18 when they turn 25? Whoever got married, when they divorced, it wasn't the person they married they divorced. It was the person they became.
7
luke21 7 points ago +7 / -0

Crazy things do happen. My wife and I got married in the seventies and have gone on for damn near fifty years. She went to a reunion and seventy percent of her high school class was divorced.

They made a lot of that back by close of market, but the recovery won't last. Their response to this was disgustingly off-target, pretending we simply misinterpreted the slide. If they had said they were going to review the training materials because this didin't represent their policy of political inclusivity, they could've saved face with all but the left and the left would quickly stop caring.

1

4

The telltales in their response are the same font, weasel phrasing to say specifically where the document didn't come from and where it wasn't used, and especially the lack of forceful denunciation of its contents or its author.

Their press release is an admission by omission that this is in fact company policy, and they let it be dictated by middle management so corporate could keep its hands clean.

One day we got a mass email stating that a manager was fired due to "sexual assault allegations"

I kept my office door propped wide open whenever dealing with female employees afterwards. I also made the employee sit at the opposite end of my office

HR is responsible for all this woke bullshit in the past decade. 15 years ago, no one gave to fucking shits about this crap. Then the millennials started entering the work for with their entitled bullshit woke offensiveness when they didn't get what they wanted and we ended up with this bullshit. FUCK Millenials, FUCK HR and FUCK WOKENESS!

Source: I'm a millennial and fucking hate anyone in my generation that stands for this horseshit. You're not cool, you're a huge faggot that deserves nothing in life.

7
AIDS1255 7 points ago +7 / -0

Couldn't agree more. I'm also a millennial. First job I had out of college, found the company had a "learning to work with millennials" HR course required for all the older generation that worked there. Fuck that, new people entering the work force need to learn how to work with the experienced folks. And all the inclusion bullshit just goes beyond retarded.

Also I noped out of that company mainly due to the dumb culture

If you're female you'll make it, maybe even if you're white, but those same HR clowns are going to hire you, and they can spot an outsider a mile away.

If you're male, forget about it completely. Even if they did hire you, you'd want to suicide in about four days.

3
gummibarenaked 3 points ago +3 / -0

You'd have better luck being a cold hire with no prior background in securities regulation. HR at F500 companies has its own language and culture. The moment you enter their lair, you'd quickly be seated in that special part of the foyer with Sydney, Mohammad and Juglis.

5
Ben45 5 points ago +5 / -0

I'm willing to work in any field so long as they'll hire me. Might have to start a post to get more ideas on decent paying jobs that don't require previous experience or any specific degree.

5
gummibarenaked 5 points ago +5 / -0

You have a golden opportunity now to start your own company. So many of the big companies now are getting decimated in bankruptcies. They aren't able to start over again as they did originally. So now is your chance.

  1. Start small but have a plan for constant growth.

  2. Don't be afraid to work long hours.

  3. Never be afraid to put on work gloves and go through your companies garbage to see how resources are being used/misused.

  4. Always keep good paper records. Start keeping even more records during any incident that gives you a weird feeling that something ain't right. These extra records might just save your ass at some point in the future when you figure out what that weirdness was all about.

My attitude is that I don't care if nobody else in the country has a problem with their messaging. I won't buy it. Maybe they'll even manage to trick me by owning the company that I buy from instead. But they made me angry and I'm not going to knowingly buy their product ever again.

It all started with a credit card company back in the 70s that kept turning me down when I was approved by everybody else. After I started my own business I never accepted that card. It was a great week if I could personally throw one of their regional reps out the door. I'm retired now and they're out of business.

Dismantle Human Resources.

Unwoke.hr is a good start, but it doesn't go far enough. I'd love to hear some ideas on how to dismantle the HR system and turn the functioning part in SaaS or to use a SaaS based system to eliminate the need for HR. Or a way to have employees that just don't interact with each other, that don't interact with the company.

The gig economy partially addresses this issue, but also creates a whole other set of problems. What is shows is that there are workable solutions out there. We just need a new paradigm.

27
Maga33 27 points ago +27 / -0

No need to reinvent the wheel. HR used to be known as the Personnel Department. They typed up the paperwork after the Manager hired you. No input, no decision making.

11
siliconia 11 points ago +11 / -0

Except that there's the culture, the laws and the bureaucracy, that the problem isn't human resources itself. It's the system that's been created that requires a human resources department. It's the way that feminists infiltrated the system, because they couldn't start by changing laws that were unreasonable. They attacked the workplace first.

The company needs human resources, because the corporate and office environments have created that need. That system creates an unnecessary power structure that is being abused by the people who made the need to create it.

It creates unearned power.

This is 100% accurate. Tires aren't controversal and no one cares if they have Goodyear or Michelin (but we do now). This is a warning to every corporation that letting the radical left cuck you means a boycott from the right. AKA get woke go broke.

Now companies that thought it was safe to bend the knee to every LGBT BLM flavor the the week political movement will have to think twice. Either we segregate politically or companies learn to stop playing these stupid games to begin with. I don't know the politics of the people that make the chair I'm sitting in and I don't want to.

13
slrpnls 13 points ago +13 / -0

Tires aren't controversal and no one cares if they have Goodyear or Michelin (but we do now).

This, so much this! Beans, tires, flour, shaving razors etc. aren't exactly status symbols. They are simple tools and commodities we purchase to get through life. There are other options out there, pedes and we will buy them or do without.

Yeah right - these people do not give a fuck. They will keep doing it and doing it and doing it until it is normalized behaviour. "Of course the company that sells tires has a policy against displaying conservative values. Eveyone does! That's just common sense!"

It's about shifting that overton window; it's about shifting perception on what is acceptable. Even if some companies go down in fucking flames; it'll all be worth it.

Everything they do is about shifting perception - make the currently unacceptable not only normal and acceptable, but expected and demanded.

Pedophilia normalization push is coming hard over the next 10 years. The time for conservatives to rise up and put these people down has long since passed. Every day we let this charade go on longer, another person's perception on reality goes into the toilet. How many of you are going to let your childrens minds (and bodies) be raped before you find the normalization of degeneracy, hatred towards whites and conservatives and the general horrible policies to have gone too far?

I wonder what you folks think we're going to do after 2024...

Because another 4 years isn't going to stop these people - the foreign/domestic enemies have been at it in this country for over a century, and the biggest foreign enemy (China) has been helping for over 50 years.

All they need is a decade, a few more big moves, and you'll be their slave forever. With this COVID bullshit, something tells me they expect that within the next ten years they'll have us all wrapped up.

If anything, the four years of Trump has only emboldened them to act more and push harder. If gigantic moves aren't made LIKE RIGHT NOW, they're going to get what they want and I wish you luck trying to escape a communist society (world) with the technology that exists today. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, no escaping. Death will be the only way out of the fresh hell they have planned.

For better or for worse, that's a field you can play offensive on if you want to dance around the legal fights (you'll get sued because someone will claim you targeted a protected class, like skin color, when you really targeted an unprotected class, politics).

The Human Resources arm of corporate America is the same general core of people that are controlling federal employee unions, teachers unions and university boards.

This needs to be really looked at critically, the entire structural foundation of our nation is infected with a creeping socialist cancer that if we don't do something to mitigate it soon, it will take over the country from within.

Here is something Trump will need to focus on. The investment from these Globalists require corporate activism in return. China does this as well. Any money demands submission. They are like a mafia with many wise guys giving envelopes to the person who was just made. They don't invest in bulk - they have a network of institutions and fund managers that showers them with money. This article linked explains how they hope to do more of this.

Human Resources, according to the 2016 Bureau of Labor Statistics, is 71% female. Unfortunately for all women, it seems the women in charge in corporate America make very very bad political choices.

5
TehAgent 5 points ago +5 / -0

Most HR reps Ive dealt with are shady as fuck and extremely backstabby. One was super cool. I miss her. The new one? Causes all sorts of problems creates more work for people that hire so her job is slightly easier. Has us duplicating information thats already on the application (which is required even if you submit a resume) on a new form just to save her the trouble of getting familiar with where the info is already at. Started trying to make her own judgement calls on who I can hire, outside of company guidelines. Wouldnt let me hire a super sharp and clean half asian dude because he had a petty theft on his record, but let me hire a dude that was extremely violent and had a rap sheet a mile long. (I found this out by looking them up myself on my own time) Immediately tried to start digging up dirt on me and trying to plant seeds of doubt in my supervisors ears. Luckily none of it worked; Im squeaky clean, my employees respect and like me, and my supervisor shut her shit down quick. Started doing these exit interviews which would be cool except the goal is not to actually conduct an exit interview its an attempt at getting dirt from someone that may not like me. Too bad I treat people very well and no one is playing ball on that one.

If you cant tell I dont fucking like HR. The entire female side of the office is just drama and social groups that try to 'get' the other group constantly. Cant we just show up, get our jobs done and go home?

Yup. We have some soyboy engineers. Annoying, passive aggressive, and not half as smart as they think they are. Also too good to get their hands dirty once in a while; which I guess is ok because if I can help them that means one of my people isnt working and needs the money.

Those guys arent too bad with my job though; our 'spheres' dont interact very much. Different departments, different supervisors, and hell I own part of the company. I wouldnt want to work in a position where they were 'above' me in the company hierarchy though. Fuck that. They lack leadership and testosterone.

Coopers last a long time but are ultimately a cheap low end tire. They usually develop weird noise and vibrations while having shit tons of tread left...and it wont balance out. That said, if I needed a good long lasting set for like a work truck, or I was down on my luck, I wouldnt hesitate to get Coopers.

Im currently running some Cooper Cobras on my 66 Dodge, Yokohamas on my Colorado, and some Hankooks on my commuter truck (s10).

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
3
TehAgent 3 points ago +3 / -0

I have an 8 year old set that still have absurd amounts of tread...I put over 100,000 miles on them no joke. They just make some pretty bad road noises and one or two have a wobble at 35 and then vibration at 70+. That said, they were on the s10 which is all of 3500lbs with me and my equipment (when I worked in the field) and saw a fairly easy life of mostly highway use. Bought the truck in 2012 with 84k, blew one of the original Tiger Paws, put those on around 85,000 miles and now have 213,000. Did NOT realize they were that old until I put some new rims and tires on...then checked the receipt in the glove box and double checked the date on the sidewall. Yup, made in 2012.
