I have Cooper Discovery tires on my Explorer. Fantastic tires! Have over 60k miles on them and still lots of tread left. Theyre probably gonna age out before they wear out. Good grip too.

Yes, you have to look at each tire you buy and tires of the same model can be made somewhere else depending on size. I want to say some if not all of Cooper's Zeon's are China made, but some if not all their CS5 Ultra Tourings are US made. Do your homework and the spec sheet on tirerack.com is pretty helpful for finding where they're from.

They are the only brand of tyre I trust. Don't last as long (because of the soft compound) but the only tyres I trust my wife and children to be driving with.
My brother-in-law was researching tires and went with Coopers based mostly on customer reviews. He said it was like a brand new car, much smoother and quieter than the stock tires on his Nissan.
Cooper makes a fairly good tire in my opinion. Michelin is the best tire I've ever used. Cooper does make the tires here in the US though. I've been in the factory and watched them make them from start to finish
Not all of Cooper's tires are made in the US even though they are a great company. You can usually do your homework on where a tire is made on tirerack.com and other sites, but different size tires of the same brand can be made in different places. My BF Goodrich tires were built in the USA even if they're owned by Michelin which is French. I don't have a problem buying tires made here if the company the owns the factory is from somewhere else as they're at least investing in American labor and the communities with the factory.
Nokian which is Finnish built their first US plant in TN a year ago and they make some solid tires. I look forward to my first set off Coopers when I need a set in 2-3 years. I believe Bridgestone has some made in USA tires as well.
I'll give them one more shot because they're American. The last 3 sets between 3 different vehicles all developed bulges in the sidewall under normal driving conditions. Hopefully they've refined their product since then.

The factory Michelins that came on my Highlander (itself made in Princeton Indiana) were made in Oklahoma.

Their AT tires can also be made overseas. Sales guy at your local tire shop can help find that info as well. Went with Toyo for that reason only.

Goodyear is oem for many cars. The only reason Goodyear was still in business. They make a few decent tires but a lot of junk.

Coopers are some of the best truck tires you can buy. They're bit heavy, but their wet and snow traction beats others.
