Many of the foreign-based tire companies make their tires right here in America:

Michelin has plants in: Alabama, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina.

You can look at the tire code (the code after the 'DOT:') and find out where they are made.

The factory Michelins that came on my Highlander (itself made in Princeton Indiana) were made in Oklahoma.

I don’t know the origin of General tires but the Altimax Artic tires are pretty sticky in MN winters
