Be honest - After you verified the call quality was where it should be...you kept listening to calls for the keks

4

You listen to calls? You can automate that, much easier. Will tell you which keywords lead to purchases/appointments and stuff over the phone. Lmk if you want to know how, not sure private messaging is a thing in .win yet

I can't even imagine how much trucking companies must spend on tires per year.

17

Own towing company. It's not a small number.

I'll happily buy Coopers h/t. Boom.

11
cosmicspiritwarrior 11 points ago +11 / -0

heavy haul buy new tires for every load, some of their trailers have almost a hundred tires. paying for a tire guy to come out and change tires for days isn't even the most expensive part of the load. transit insurance for those short trips is enormous, thousands for tires is a drop in the bucket when your paying a million for a few days of insurance & all the fuel and salaries involved. The guys moving the equipment around for those giant turbines the liberals are having installed everywhere are very conservative.

5
FireannDireach 5 points ago +5 / -0

11
Sporadica 11 points ago +11 / -0

Air Force One may or may not have GY tires, but it won't in the future that's for sure. Trump said he will switch the tires off the presidential limo's from Goodyear to someone else. It'll take some time, those tires aren't off the shelf due to being bulletproof.

9
magamagashii 9 points ago +9 / -0

Yes. They make airplane tires. From small Cessnas up to the huge commercial planes in sure.

2
spicy_deluxe 2 points ago +2 / -0

I hope they make those tires designed to sit on after ass surgery because the only people who buy them are going to be the butthurt.

4
Gun-totingvegan 4 points ago +4 / -0

Do you have an account with goodyear or do tires come from a distribution center?

4
deeluna 4 points ago +4 / -0

Asking the real questions.

4
Gun-totingvegan 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'm asking because telling them directly that you aren't selling their tires would be more satisfying.

3
Mashiki 3 points ago +3 / -0

Keep in mind that even if it's from a distribution center, if they start pushing deals or stock keeps hanging on, it'll work it's way up the chain.

1
havax 1 point ago +1 / -0

yep, depletion forecast ain't lookin' good for ya, good year.

1
Mashiki 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yep. I haven't used them for years, since their last set of winter tires turned into 4 sets of winter tires, in two different countries(Canada & US), and 3 different regions(Northern Alberta/South Dakota/Southern Ontario) with all of them having the same issue. That is, as soon as I got above 65mph, the vibration was so bad you thought that you'd thrown a belt.

Can't tell you how many times the tires were pulled, reseated on the winter rims, rebalanced. And them still vibrating like it was going out of style. It sure wasn't the rims, because as soon as I switched to Hankook's there wasn't an issue.

1
Royaljoker28 1 point ago +2 / -1

We do not, we just use local places such as pepboys to get our tires, and normally we don't sell them personally but I buy them frequently for cars I purchase or on my personal vehicles and I sure won't be buying Goodyear anymore.

71
alfredbester 71 points ago +71 / -0

65 MILLION PEOPLE VOTED FOR DONALD TRUMP.

Most are not riding the bus, they are driving cars and making decisions about which tires to buy every few years.

30
Afeazo 30 points ago +30 / -0

Its why I lol'd when I saw someone on r/politics comment that their next tire purchase will be Goodyear. I just thought, half the people there aren't even driving age let alone voting age, and the other half are shills and deranged unemployed greedy people who wouldn't even own a car.

You can actually return Goodyear with 30 days (if they're in good condition), but but you can only exchange for different Goodyear tires. That does at least give people the opportunity to get some of their money back if there's a cheaper Goodyear option.

23

25
Swampyankee 25 points ago +25 / -0

To be honest I've never sold Goodyear's at my shop anyways because they are a junk tire. Cooper is always the go to bang for the buck choice with continental and michelin on the higher end. Feels good that I've been slamming them for years as poor quality just to see them commit to putting a knee on the neck of their business......

3
Corse46 3 points ago +3 / -0

3

General Tire is owned by Germany's Continental now. I have a set of General Altimax snow tires that do great and have held up well.

2
Swampyankee 2 points ago +2 / -0

Generals are a good tire yes, comparable to cooper IMO. There are many great options in tire brands which makes this move by Goodyear incredibly stupid. Unlike big tech and sports they certainly do not dominate market share

3
nmipede 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well, as American as you can get nowadays.

In 2013, Cooper Tire and Rubber Company was planned to become a part of Apollo Tyres of India for $2.5 billion. This means Cooper wouldn’t be an all-American tire brand anymore, leaving Goodyear to be the only one. Circumstances made the companies cancel the deal, keeping Cooper one of the two genuinely American brands that have tires made in USA mostly.

Make tires or whatever your product is and stay the hell out of social and political issues that are not directly related to your industry.
