I am a Veteran & have known Bowman for over a decade through helping out with a Veterans Charity that l got involved in after the suicide of a close friend & combat buddy of mine who was seriously injured in a operation we were on together.Me & Bowman served in similar roles/rank so hit it off & he was interested in what l encountered in combat in Iraq & Afghanistan & then my work as a PMC around the world utilizing the training/experience we both shared.
Bowman's story is something anyone going through a bad patch should study ,all too often people hear of his accident go tsk ,tsk shrug their shoulders & switch off.
BOWMAN IS A BEAST PHYSICALLY & MENTALLY, THAT WE WOULD ALL BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO STRIVE TO BECOME HALF THE MAN HE IS & WHAT HE HAS ACHIEVED & DONE TO HELP OTHERS.
In the accident itself what is not often discussed is Bowman & Sgt. Jose Aguillon, were best friends & Bowman actually looked up to Jose as even though he was small in stature, he was a giant of a man, a true leader & motivator with a wicked sense of humor .
They hit at over 300 mph during a complex maneuver they had done a 100 times before. The "Diamond Track" was a crowd favorite. Passing within a few feet of each other, he and his U.S. Army Golden Knights skydiving partner were able to create an illusion of passing through each other , where they fall together marking the start of a diamond pattern point with their marking smoke, then separated & flew at each other while tracing a diamond in the sky. The move required world-class skill and precision. Once committed & hurtling at each other there is little they can do due to the extreme speeds, as they got danger close Bowman could see Jose was off his mark, he tried to flare but it was a FUBAR done deal.
They were traveling at such extreme speeds Jose arm actually severed both Bowmans legs (just take a sec to think about that fact alone )& the leg being detached &coming up killed Jose like a 300mph karate chop.Bowman was in a coma for 2 days to wake & be told not only had he lost his limbs but his best friend was dead after colliding with him.
That was the start of Bowmans fight to honor his friend, he fought his doctors to be allowed to go to Sgt. Jose Aguillon funeral just 7 days later ,with his stumps still bleeding while in his wheelchair. While Bowman was still in hospital his wife left him ,her parting words were she stopped loving him the day of the accident ,thankfully a nurse heard it & placed him on a suicide watch .Bowman decided then he would concentrate on honoring Jose by taking life full on & doing everything he was able to do & live his life forward by the mantra "I like to show people it's not the disability, it's the ability,".
The Army tried to retire him as disabled which would have been much better for him financially . Bowman fought back and re-enlisted, he became the first double amputee to re-enlist in the United States Army.,even continuing as a member of the elite Golden Knights sky diving team. Five months after his accident, he jumped again.Since then he has done practically everything the doctors told him he would never do again ,including after getting out of the military he went to the University of North Dakota Aerospace, where he graduated with a degree in aeronautics. He has become a commercial pilot and flight instructor for both fixed wings & helicopters,in his own words today he does more after the accident than he did before, including everything from doing endurance snow skiing, deep sea diving , around the world

The best thing the world could do is stop paying attention to what the pathetic attention whores & show boats of the "entertainment " world say & do & look at what true hero's & great humans like Sgt. First Class (Ret.) Dana Bowman have achieved in the face of adversity & the help they have provided for the less fortunate .Those "celebrity "attention whores would have to climb onto their father's shoulders just to kiss his ass.
Yeh happily married with kids ,he is one of those guys that just has manliness shining through so he is a chick magnet . That bitch could have killed him ,as it came at a time crucial in his physical health & just crushed him mentally .
Very cool! Of course heโs a chick magnet! Heโs bigger than life. He probably forgave the ex wife too. That would make her more miserable!! Good for hm! ๐
Isn't their band named after their former gym teacher too? I could imagine some leftists doing research and suggesting that they are indirectly promoting fat-shaming.

Can you imagine Skynyrd playing in Oakland, CA today? You'd be able to hear the REEEEEEE in Cleveland.
spez: Also, if you don't get goosebumps at the 6:02 mark, you should lose your U.S. citizenship.
Isn't their band named after their former gym teacher too? I could imagine some leftists doing research and suggesting that they are indirectly promoting fat-shaming.
big ass flag in the back!
Antifa and BLM would be rioting outside that concert today
What a Patriot!
God bless America.
This is what you can do when you donโt just blame everyone else for your problems and take charge
God bless him, and God bless America!
it's not that he's a veteran. it's that he's a proud trumpster!
The man has over 4000 jumps under his belt. That is impressive in itself let alone a double amputee. Heres to 4k more.
What a bad ass! MAGA 2020 ๐บ๐ธ
