Such is the difference between those who can feel compassion or not.
People who beat that animal up have little to no capability to feel remorse, they are mentally unstable. This has been seen and identified in the military before. There is a small percentage of the population capable of killing, and that percentage is split between people who are crazy and those who are the best our nation has to offer. (That's why you see some messed up crap coming from poorly managed SF teams who can't / won't properly weed out the psychopaths.) It's statistics, and there's a reason most medal of honor recipients act the same way, because they are the rare breed of people who can handle that mental burden and still feel. They don't kill the enemy out of rage or bloodlust, but out of a Familial / older brother type of love (for their team / civilians / others). And such people will endanger their own lives for those others deem worthless.
It's really incredible to read up on sometimes. I've met one such person before, and it was obvious, he was the most selfless and genuine person I've ever met.
Yeah I have no problem shooting a particularly nasty racoon if needed. But this is sickening. Especially continuing to bash it after it's dead.
If you have to kill an animal, you make it quick. You don't go psyco on it like that.
