Friend just told me the census guy knocked on the door wanting help finding addresses. He had four listed, but there were only two houses. Turned out they were counting horse facilities! You know that must be going on all over the place.

This could have very easily been me. I’m doing census as a part time 2nd job in rural LA county because it pays $25/hr plus an $800 bonus every 3 weeks for 25 hours/wk or more worked. With shift diff bonuses I’m making about $47/hr on Sundays, not bad for getting to know my neighbors.
Take the 4 “houses” thing with a grain of salt, they’re not using the most accurate or current data (they’re could have been 4 houses there a hundred years ago, they’re still gonna ask). All I can say is that I’m doing my part... to be fair and accurate...
I will also say though that this job is vastly over represented (here anyways) by minorities and I’m sure that’s reflected in their counts. The office I am based out of is almost exclusively Indians and blacks.
I forgot to add that many illegals nope out of the survey as soon as you ask “Are you of Hispanic, Latino our Spanish origen?” and suddenly forget how to speak English.
They used to say "1234 1/2 Dildo Avenue" or the main address with "back house" or the back resident's name got mail "care of" the main occupant. My town in OC now allows "Accessory dwelling units" which are really supposed to be like a playhouse or a pottery studio but strange cousins from the east all build structures that rival or surpass the size of the single family ranch style footprint. Bunch of shit
