It’s not the asymptomatic people that concern me. It’s the people that know they’re sick but still go out into public.
I feel this way about all sickness. I have a great immune system and rarely get sick, but when I do it really pisses me off bc I don’t go out or to work out of respect for others.
I hear you and I understand your concern for sure. There are definitely shitheads that will continue to go out, knowing they’re sick. But how many will do that? Is it really enough to justify taking everyone’s freedom away?
You’d be surprised. I am a data analyst for a very large state and have seen some shit.
Let me tell you a story. One of the very first people who was actually diagnosed in this state with coronavirus just came across my desk.
They tested positive when we didn’t know much about this virus. THREE days after testing positive this person started feeling a bit better. They decided to say fuck the isolation orders and went to the gym, three restaurants, an open house and had painters in their house to finish work.
I’ve traced over 65 people back to this one case and that’s just what I could put together. It’s likely they are the seed for several hundred cases.
That’s the type of people I worry about. Selfish people who wouldn’t even stay home for three days during the discovery stage of an infectious disease.
Luckily this isn’t as virulent or deadly as we thought, but it’s already in motion and I’m certain we could knock it back to near zero if we got people to either stay home or just wear a mask in public. Fuck social distancing, though. It doesn’t work.
