Meh.... You are clearly not a business owner, so I'll give you a pass as far as that goes, but what you just said is incredibly bullshit and a leftist tactic.

Guilt by secondhand association is one of the most modern-democrat-communist techniques I can think of.

Edit -- I realize some people won't agree with what I said, but I'm still correct.... There's a big difference between using some of their tactics against them and using their tactics against ourselves....

Mm hm. I can be better than you when we're having a civil conversation. When you winning an argument LITERALLY results in children having their genitals removed, people being labelled as guilty because of the color of their skin or the contents of their trousers, and the resurrection of a system of governance that has a 100% rate of not only FAILURE but resultant genocide and oppression, I'm only concerned with the end result. I'd much rather be the asshole left alive to protect the innocent, than the asshole left alive standing on the grave of millions with his thumb up his butt going "But I'm so principled!"

6
AdamBomb 6 points ago +6 / -0

100% agree. There's a reason the seal for this country is an eagle with an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other. Always start optimistic and treat good associates well, but as soon as someone strikes at you or tries to take you down you must respond with a volley powerful enough to prevent them from being able strike back. It's best to be smart about the response so optics fall in your favor - don't just blindly lash out. A reputation of "he/she's great to work with but doesn't put up with bullshit" commands respect and fosters a productive and, in turn, respectful community.

48
The_Litehaus_Abides 48 points ago +48 / -0

I'm always seeing people conflating tactics with ideology. Our ideas are diametrically opposed to their ideas, therefore, we're always more principled than the tyrants.

Our own Founding Fathers used guerrilla warfare tactics to win against the tyrants of the crown. They were some of the most highly principled men in the history of the world.

We need be like them.

Our own Founding Fathers used guerrilla warfare tactics to win against the tyrants of the crown

The Americans were viewed as 'dishonorable' for their fighting tactics. The British despised them for not lining up in rows to get shot like every other military force in the 18th century.

Trump is the first R President to acknowledge that he's in a back alley knife fight, not a game of billiards in the parlor.

Our principles (life, liberty, property, the pursuit of happiness) are what we're fighting for and what the left are fighting to destroy.

With that said, of course don't let them twist our principles against us, using the letter of our principles to corrupt the spirit of them.

16

☝️ 4 years of "were better than them" with our kid gloves while they're spitting on us and kicking us in the balls... fuck it, I've been done with that for a while.

4
Fabius 4 points ago +6 / -2

Who is getting kicked in the balls?

You're listening to the enemy propaganda and believing it. Calm down, son. We're fighting 50 years of uniparty, deepstate corruption and a culture of degeneracy. At the first sign of difficulty you're already giving up.

Muh principles are the reason we fight. If you're not fighting because you have principles, what the fuck are you fighting for? You might as well be a negro fighting over a set. I'm not dying for a color, you go ahead.

What would be better is if you got married and had some kids. Then you might need some "principles" to make you risk everything.

5
NvJohansson 5 points ago +6 / -1

Who's getting kicked in the balls? Have you missed the Mueller investigation? Relentlessly going after Trump 24/7 for 3 fucking years, finding nothing on Russia only for the dems to quickly turn around and impeach him on Ukraine for withholding Aid that Joe Biden actually admit it to on camera? If that's not a kick in the balls to you, I don't know what is.

As for principles, if you're going to spend your life fighting by the Marquis De Queensbury rules against people who are trying to gouge your eyes out, bite you and low blow you, you will lose every single time.

Married and kids? Preach more, you don't know me. I have four so my part is done.

And finally, your racist bullshit really doesn't interest me.

It isn't said, "War is Hell", for nothing.

War reminds us that deep down, we all have that brute that's itching to get out.

To win a war, one is REQUIRED to let that brute out. That brute has the potential for a LOT of things one normally would never brag about.

Every WWII, Korean, and Vietnam vet that I've talked to, gets to a point in talking about their experience in war where they will NOT continue to talk about what they did.

My son is finding this out. He's getting into WWII and Cold War re-enacting, and has read some very graphic and detailed private diaries and biographies.

War IS hell.

The reason we beat the Nazis, the Japanese, the North Koreans AND their Chinese allies*, and the North Vietnamese**, is because we realized deep down, they had to be very savagely, very brutally taken down. We realized some of us HAD to get our hands VERY bloody, so that the rest of us might dwell in peace and liberty.

  • In the Korean War, North Korea was the aggressor - pushing the South Korean/US forces to the very end of the peninsula. The US pushed North Korea all the way back up the peninsula to the Chinese border, whereupon the Chinese entered the war.

With the 1 million Chinese troops the US forces were again pushed back down to the tip of the peninsula - where we again turned the tide. The US was in the process of pushing both the Chinese AND the North Koreans back up the peninsula when the Chinese told the North Koreans to sue for an armistice - a cease fire. They knew the North Koreans were only a couple months away from being completely wiped out, and the US forces were NOT going to stop at the Yaloo river this time. Creating the DMZ at the same area as the original borders between North and South Korea saved the Chinese in more ways than one.

**In the Vietnam War, North Vietnam, with their Viet Cong allies, literally threw everything they had against the US forces in 1968, in an effort called the Tet Offensive. Over the next couple of years, the fighting was so savage that both sides suffered horrific losses in the jungles, but North Vietnam and the Viet Cong were completely decimated. In every category, it was a decisive military win for the US.

But Walter Cronkite decided we had too many US caualties, and didn't want us winning the war, so he went on live TV on the evening news to make the declaration America had LOST the Tet Offensive AND war.

Yet, the only way North Vietnam could take South Vietnam, was by having their meager forces follow behind ours as we withdrew from South Vietnam. They entered Saigon only when they saw our last choppers taking off. The North Vietnamese knew they were no match for the firepower we still had in the area.

Vietnam remains the only war we have "lost" due to the antics and propaganda of our political Left.

The verdict of Iraq and Afghanistan remain out at this moment.

I have to disagree. Conservatives can't publicly express their beliefs due to fear of being cancelled. Meanwhile Dems can openly support domestic terrorists without any fear of repercussions. We've let it slide long enough to the point of normalization. The more we play the game, the more we level the playing field.

-24
willswim4pizza -24 points ago +5 / -29

Nope - this is how you become one of them.

We can win the game by holding to our principles. In fact, the ONLY way to win is to hold to our principles. Think about it...the goal of "winning" is to hold our principles and get the rest of the country back on board with those principles as well.

We just have to actually hold the left accountable to those principles rather than continue to compromise in the hope they will also compromise to meet in the middle for solutions. There is no middle ground with them. They take every inch, give nothing in return, and demand more.

How does boycotting a company for supporting Marxism violate our ideals?

Maybe you should think about it over a nice breakfast burrito made with Goya beans and a nice cup of covfefe (or maybe a cup of Joe from Starbucks if you still don't get it)?

-1
willswim4pizza -1 points ago +5 / -6

There is a big difference between boycotting Goodyear products, and then boycotting every single company out there who sells Goodyear products in addition to many other products.

Boycotting Goodyear directly hurts Goodyear and your voice will be heard if the boycott is effective. That company will (hopefully) realize the error in their ways and change.

Boycotting other businesses that sell all kinds of tires...does what? What's the goal of that? To force them via mob rule to also participate in your boycott or else they will go out of business too? This option accomplishes the Goodyear boycott, but also hurts other people as well.

It doesn't even make logical sense to boycott any business who sells Goodyear tires. Sounds an awful lot like a radical leftist policy if you ask me.

10
ThePowerOfPrayer 10 points ago +11 / -1

If a local tire shop sells Cooper, Michelin, and Goodyear, buy Cooper or Michelin. You're really not thinking this through.

And if you don't think the Goodyear only shops will put the pressure on corporate if they're losing their shirts, what do you think will happen instead?

Also, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

1
SirPokeSmottington 1 point ago +1 / -0

There is a big difference between boycotting Goodyear products, and then boycotting every single company out there who sells Goodyear products in addition to many other products.

I think you forget, Goodyear tires doesn't sell to individuals. They make their money selling to tire companies.

You have to get it into the heads of the tire companies, that THEY TOO, need to boycott their tires.

1
zabbers 1 point ago +2 / -1

That's like saying there's a big difference between Americans torturing people and Americans handing over enemy combatants to third-parties to torture them.

It's just a layer of abstraction that helps Goodyear. They could just move away from direct sales and keep their shitty policy.

The difference with the left is they attack people by simple association, not to mention over personal beliefs and opinions that have no effect on society as a whole. A business selling Goodyear is part of a hierarchy. We're not saying attack anyone who has a Goodyear sign on the wall. Just let them know you won't buy from a company that supports Goodyear. They can decide which group of customers is more important.

9
OneBigMaga 9 points ago +9 / -0

How do you hold someone accountable when they control the courts and ignore the laws? You don't do it by take NG the high ground. If the founding fathers thought like you, we would still be an English colony.

-4
willswim4pizza -4 points ago +2 / -6

You can fight without sacrificing your principles and values. There isn't another option otherwise the left wins.

Don't let the lefts bullshit stances on principles over the last 10 years confuse you with what real principles are. When we broke free of English rule we did so BECAUSE of principles. We didn't sacrifice them.

If we had sacrificed our principles and values to break free of English rule like you suggest we should...do you know what that would look like? Washington would have been King of America instead of the first President. We would have rebelled, started our own nation, and instead of keeping our values and principles that we claimed to be fighting for, the founding fathers would have just grabbed power and held onto it. That didn't happen because they (we) held onto our principles and values.

7
Guruchild 7 points ago +7 / -0

You keep using that word. What principles?

16
CnnWillBlackmailYou 16 points ago +16 / -0

This mindset is exactly why the Brits lost the Revolutionary War.

If you let them define the tactics, then refuse to use those tactics, you lose. Always.

That's exactly why we're where we are now.

2
LaPastillaEscarlata 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep, it's also why the Vietcong could stand up to us despite being a major underdog (well, and they had the communist powers backing them, but still).

13
LArnix 13 points ago +13 / -0

I think it we are in unreasonable times and we must do unreasonable things to combat these times. I wish we could keep taking the high road but its only making us all a bigger target. Myself I have been using my pocket book to protest as much as possible. My car needs new tires before winter and I wont be using GoodYear. I do understand people have inventory on hand and they will need to off load it.

9

inutterable 49 points ago +55 / -6

Disagree. Refuse to buy Goodyear as a consumer. Refuse to do business with any business that doesn't give you an option that supports AMERICAN VALUES.

The business owner may be locked into contracts for various time frames, while having every intention to eventually break away from Goodyear or whatever other product. Don't punish them for not having a crystal ball.

You, however, can be the savior of that business owner by giving them a client-opted-out exemption on those contracts. "Sorry, Goodyear. Every person I've tried to sell them to has refused. That's why I haven't met my quotas. I have evidence of such." Et cetera. The golden rule of sales is The Customer is King.

-1
bidensmissingbrain -1 points ago +4 / -5

Way to miss the point.

The majority of tire shops are owned by local people, not tire manufacturers. Boycotting them because they happen to sell Goodyear (usually in addition to multiple other brands of tires) is shortsighted and petty.

By all means buy non-Goodyear tires (and avoid their subsidiary brands as well). But don't punish those who are effectively bystanders, many of whom are probably good, Trump-supporting folks.

At the end of the day the same number of tires will end up being bought, just with a smaller % from Goodyear. As demand for other companies rise, those companies will need more employees. Boycotts are fine, but it's not enough. It's not enough to say that companies are free to do what they want and we're free to stop buying from them.

First of all, some companies you can't easily avoid, like Google. Secondly, you are seeing political opinions not being treated equally. That should be illegal. Finally, the left would never just leave it up to consumer choice. There would be social, legal, and financial consequences.

Too often there is a power differential which makes it impossible for us to win. We leave a power vacuum and the left happily takes it up and then clobbers us with it.

I've now started shaving my head, I'm so goddamn tired of spending all this money on cartridges but I'm terrified of using a DE razor, I'm scared my sensitive ass head will look like a nestle crunch bar when I'm done.

2
OnlyAmerica 2 points ago +2 / -0

Their crappy razors are sharp for maybe a week and then scratch my face all over.

No thanks. I get at the very minimum 3 weeks smooth shaving with a safety razor.

1
HighVoltage 1 point ago +2 / -1

How long do the blades stay sharp? I used to be a very dedicated Gillette customer for more than 20 years. Then they went full retard and shamed their customers, and I have been using another, hopefully less cucked, brand since then. How many shaves do you get on one of the safety razors?

2
centexawesome 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have used DEs for years and really it is just up to personal preference. My favorites are Wilkinson Swords and they probably last for 20 or 30 shaves on me. I just change them because "This is bound to be dull." I have probably 230 or so left out of a 250 pack I bought years ago. I probably have 3 times that many astras that I don't use, and about 45 feathers. When you start using DE you tend to buy a whole bunch of stuff in the beginning and then when you find out what you like you pretty much quit buying stuff except for the soap.

2
slrpnls 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah it's one reason I would keep people away from the Wicked Edge sub. It was way too consumerism based for what should be a basic task.

1
centexawesome 1 point ago +1 / -0

It used to bug me that the only shave soap I could find locally was van der hagen. I had my pick of CVS or Wallgreens to buy it from but always thought I was getting the lowest grade of soap. Well, both of those stores quit selling puck soap and I went ahead and ordered some "fancy" soap. I have gotten proraso, some kind of boutique soap, and arko(not fancy at all but the best I have ordered but I hate the smell).

2
slrpnls 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don't shave daily but let me put it this way, I bought 100 safety razors in 2013. I'm about half way through the box.

2
Silence_Dogood_1706 2 points ago +2 / -0

They had an intagibles write down of $8 Billion in 2019 due to lost market share. They are a subsidiary of P&G, so it's difficult to see their specific financials, but you don't take that kind of write down without losing major sales. I switched to Harry's Razors.

Agreed. It’s really remarkable. When I started working the HR training was strictly designed as a means of protecting the company’s ass. It was stupid, but you could tell it was a shield for the company. “Don’t harass women. Don’t tell the joke about the Jew and the free Christmas ham, etc.”

HR has capitalized on their monopoly on certain portions of employee time to turn it into commie training. It has jumped the shark. It has exceeded the intended scope of protection of the company.

Don’t tell the joke about the Jew and the free Christmas ham

Ummmm... Enlighten me? I won't call HR on you.

11
ThePowerOfPrayer 11 points ago +11 / -0

A rabbi and a priest are old friends, and they often eat lunch together. One day, the priest orders a ham on rye, then realizes his friend might be insulted.

The rabbi assures him that it's ok, and they sit down to eat.

After a bit, the priest says, "Moishe, have you ever, you know...tried pork?"

Moishe says, "Once, in my youth, I succumbed to temptation and had a ham sandwich after my father's workplace handed out free hams at Christmas...not bad... not bad at all. But you've got things God forbids you to do, yes? Have you ever, say, had relations with a woman?"

The priest blushes, and admits to having a one-night stand while he was a lay priest in Seminary school.

Moishe grins at him and says, "A lot better than a ham sandwich, eh?"

There was this horrible, cheesy HR video that was probably made shortly after the Anita Hill smear job that made the rounds back in the ‘90’s. Bunch of sexual harassment shit and the clueless antagonist of the video also told race/ethnicity jokes. One of his jokes was “What’s a Jew’s biggest dilemma? A free Christmas ham.” Then the narrator spent two minutes explaining why you shouldn’t tell that joke to the guy in the yarmulke at the office.

They'll say, "See! THAT is how awful those people are! They're attacking Goodyear for no reason at all. Bunch of deplorables! We need MORE sensitivity training!!!"

There's little chance of reaching such people. The only hope is defeating them.

deplorablepepe4 11 points ago +11 / -0

I left my last company just in time....over their H1B visa abuse....spoke to a co-worker last week and they start diversity training today...this is a texas own engineering company...the ceo's wife majored in gender studies. The company is full of the sjw white guilt types...and a whole bunch of unqualified H1bs.

My company told us that it is a microagression to talk to black people the same as we would talk to anyone else, or to be as comfortable around black people as we are around anyone else because we're not considering the hardships black people deal with.

LOL!! My local tire center who's been in business since 1958 has officially STOPPED carrying Goodyear tires! It was posted on there website last night. This place is a very MAGA and patriotic store and is doing the same as this video. Get woke!! They removed all signage and reference to Goodyear,

Of course they are being threatened. Think of companies as collections of individual actors each acting in their own best interest. The individual vice president or board member knows his career and office will evaporate in a flash if they can be "me too'd" or portrayed as some kind of "ist."

There are plenty of young commies being thrust up the ranks by HR waiting to take their place, so they go along to get along. Protecting their job and pension takes priority over the companies bottom line for any executive, no matter what they say to investors.

Mandela says not to throw away those tires.

Let the ANC have the tires, they will kill those who oppose communism with the tires.

There has not been a good year since Mandela and his ANC took over in South Africa.

Might need to look into it, was Winnie Mandela putting Goodyear tires on the people she killed?

Dunno, but I would have the sales rep in with a box truck and a couple loaders

8
E-dantes 8 points ago +8 / -0

Hell, I would just set them somewhere gathering dust, and when the salesman asks why his inventory isn't moving, reply with "get woke go broke, I dont sell goodyear here. But you're welcome to continue to stop by and shoot the breeze"

I am amazed at how stupid these corporations are. Not like I can't go buy tires from 1 of like 20-30 other companies. Do they know that? Do they want to go out of business? Fuck 'em...LOL.

6
BootsNPants 6 points ago +6 / -0

The dumbest part is, no matter which political stance you take, you are going to piss off a large part of your customer base. So, unless your brand only appeals to certain demographics already, just stay out of politics.

Car tires are something everyone wants, so getting political makes absolutely no sense.

3
lanre 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah. P&G takes effort to avoid because they make all kinds of other stuff under multiple brands. 4 out of 5 brands of soap and shampoo at the local store might all be P&G for example.

But tires are pretty simple.

9
Thingthing22 9 points ago +9 / -0

I mean, how hard could it have been to just say no politic, non-profit, blah blah blah instead of calling out MAGAs and police supports while accept dick mutilators, pedos, and marxists?

Like what the fuck?!

I've bought Gillette products all my life. Since the "commercial", I've not purchased a single one. Never will again. Goodyear, I'm done with you too.

Goodyear got caught, they tried to plug the leak. Let me know how it works out for ya, you fucking woke morons.

8
CaptainChrisPBacon 8 points ago +9 / -1

I have 4 autos and 2 of them are older and are in needs of tires. I contacted Goodyear Auto Service Store yesterday in my city. Got a price then proceed to tell them if only they backed our Police Department I would buy 2 sets of them from them. I ordered 2 sets of Cooper Tires. I normally buy Goodyear.

Kaizen 8 points ago +8 / -0

mass_evaporation 6 points ago +6 / -0

6
Dev404 6 points ago +7 / -1

Good. Don't restock that inventory afterwards once it's either sold or thrown out. Goodyear supports terrorists coming to your business, breaking in, looting you, and then burning down what's left. Let Goodyear stores suffer that fate they support for everyone else.

joexdelete 6 points ago +6 / -0

Cooper is an American brand. I love my bfg's but they are owned by the French.

3
lanre 3 points ago +3 / -0

Toyo is Japanese but has factories in the U.S. Firestone is a subsidiary of Bridgestone, another Japanese company. I'm not aware of any SJWism from them (yet), and if I do see stuff with other companies like that, it's usually just from the U.S. branch and the cancer doesn't spread all the way to the top yet.

6
Smokin11 6 points ago +6 / -0

I love it! ACTIONS speak louder than words!! I do feel sorry for those Businesses that built their establishments around selling Goodyear tires. But the good news is that most tire shops are not exclusive to any one brand. They might have giant Goodyear signs out by the road. Instead of taking them down, it might be better to just put crime scene tape around it! Get on the phone with your BF Goodwrench, Michelin, and Cooper distributors quickly and get a bigger sign. Stock up on those brands. Push those brands hard when customers do come in! It’s gonna be painful for a while, but you gotta be nimble when you are a Buisness owner!

American Made Cooper Tires Stock prices are going up. Better Buy Your Stonks while they are still in a reasonable price range. Interesting Cooper tire Stonks are in the $35 range while Goodyear is trading about $9.30 range.

1
SirPokeSmottington 1 point ago +1 / -0

Interesting Cooper tire Stonks are in the $35 range while Goodyear is trading about $9.30 range.

That can be a conscious decision by the company to make their shares more affordable to the general public.

Take Alphabet or Tesla for instance... they artificially keep their stocks high, so only investors and rich people can invest. It also gives a false sense of cachet to own such an overvalued stock.

They could easily stock split 3:1 or higher and bring their stock prices down to a reasonable level where more people could invest.

Some of their bullshit reasoning is that it prices out the day traders. But day traders don't make your stock valuation swing wildly, like institutional investors and skittish 'rich people' portfolios do.

Dear God, I love it. The key takeaway to Goodyear and others contemplating this level of wokeness is not to shit where you eat.

6
TenScoops 6 points ago +6 / -0

I think the gloves are really off now.. and the tires.

It need to be given "Office Space" treatment, while the Ghetto Boys track 'Still' is played in the background, for distribution everywhere.

"I got a reply to your BLM Commie virtue signaling message right here!" (Lucille from the Walking Dead, smashes Goodyear sign open and pieces fly at the camera lens)

"Goodyear?, I haven't heard anything about their racist comments or policies"

Are we not getting the word out?! Make them Listen!
