My company is way slicker with their policy. It runs scenarios.
It had a gay man and a devout Christian in an argument and the gay man complained about his sermon discussion with a co-worker. While the Christian complained about the man's LGBT activism. The HR example stated both are fine depending on context.
The limits will be something you're made aware of after you cross the line, no doubt.
Yeah well, that's not easy. I for one are just in the process of acquiring the skills needed and saving money, while also working on my project despite working 40h/week. Then it has to be finished by myself alone and be successful enough that I can even consider hiring someone.
I have 2 ideas essentially that I'd like to manifest... and although the second one is way more lightweight, it requires skills I don't have yet. But that's the type of idea that can have a breakthrough like Facebook, Twitter, etc if it turns out successful.
It won't be easy... but nothing is really easy that's worth doing, so...
That's the point...you don't even have to be near the gay guy and don't need to be talking to him or even about him.
All that has to happen is that he overhears you talking about something...it makes him "uncomfortable" and...you'll be having a meeting with HR.
The scenario specifically addresses that. How the Christian will leave discussions when the gay man shows up. How he never accepts invitations offered to co-workers. How he'll ask Dave about his wife but never asks James about his husband.
The complaint included how the Christian will talk with a co-worker about the Bible where the gay man can hear.
That's where they toss in the idea of "context". He's free to discuss socially acceptable Christian ideas with coworkers but if he discusses a forbidden topic... that's a disciplinary action.
Ooh - ditto where I worked (retired in 2017 and almost had forgotten about that).
If you didnt know they were actors in the videos, you would think that zero straight, white, Christian, Veteran unburdened, well-adjusted people worked for the largest DoD/Aerospace contractor on Earth (was that doxing? sooo fuckin sorry). What made it tolerable was my department's manager thought like most of us did and ran the minimum (3) scenarios required by corporate, he let us choose which ones from the list, and understood that nobody had any interest in lengthy discussion or debate. So, watch the clip, ID the behavior, state a preferred behavior, move the fuck on.
After all, America's work was waiting for us to tend to.
No. The difference is Goodyear's was leaked. All these big corporations are saying the same thing. They all have diversity departments that indoctrinate the staff with marxist propaganda, what is and is not acceptable speech, behavior, and thinking.
Yes. We even have a Director of "Diversity and Inclusion" at my fortune 500 company.
Corporate pushes this excrement 24/7 and are super proud to be recognized for it by the Left.
We have ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) for every group under the sun except White males. (Unsurprisingly)
Probably trained by the same consultants who provided them with the same "training" material. Diversity consulting is the new big scam in the corporate world.
Remember when HR was just the personnel office, and not "training' people in how to think and act? I do, which is why this shit is so repugnant to me.
Not too surprising. They are probably fed what to present, kind of like the videos of various news channels saying word for word the exact same thing as each other.
When do these companies get so bogged down in this bullshit that it starts impacting performance and they start losing money? Can we just force them to keep adding mandatory training days and diversity education until it impacts profits?
Special diverse mentoring programs too. No mentoring for you Whitey!!!
Seriously if you are black in corporate America, and have any brains, it’s a yellow brick road right now. Asians don’t count though. Indians neither. Lollll clown world.
we just got an email from CEO stating that we will now be having diversity training for "unconscious bias, implicit associations and microaggressions".
I can assure you..my aggressions aren't going to be 'micro'.
I started a job with a based company a few months ago and everyone had to watch the "diversity" video training. Fortunately, the training never got into anything controversial or political. Basically, if you say or do things around the workplace that any reasonable person would find offensive, you will get disciplined. Common sense shit for the most part.
My company is doing a lot of this stuff too, but they're making it optional at least. It seems to satisfy the woke crowd while the normal people can get on with life.
They haven't rolled it out yet or given us details... just announced that there is going to be training. :/ We'll see. But in a previous statement, the ceo apologized and said that we've been racist in the past and we're going to do more for black people (his words). Even though we have the highest volume of low income program files of any institution in the entire western region (including california)....so...if we're already doing highest volume of services for low income....why the feck would he make an announcement (sent out to all customers and employees) that we've been too racist in the past (facepalm)
The stupidity/white guilt is just amazing. I mean, if you told me five years ago this would be happening, I wouldn't have belived you.
Seems like the Wall Street culture war profiteers could simply follow these companies hiring woke diversity advocates and short their stocks. High ROE is all but guaranteed.
More people need to do the same with others companies that are making these changes. I know from my girlfriend that her bank is doing the same. Also making the mask things even more crazy. Also not allowing customers to remove more than 1500 from an ATM.
Theres a lot of bankers rubbing their hands together over this whole cashless-society BS. What happens when you have no choice but to allow unaccountable 3rd parties to store your wealth? For sure they are going to exploit that power.
Every time they refuse to give you what's yours, you should be able to come back with police and handcuff and jail every staff member you can find at the branch. You cant 'not allow' when its not yours, fuckers.
Just don't be the asshole to yell inside a bank at the tellers because they don't control that. So dick bag pilot yelled at my girlfriend the other day and I so wish I was there to lay into him. One because I hate airline pilots and two because he made her cry.
If bankers can lose billions of dollars, and for this they are actually rewarded by getting to loot the treasury of taxpayer funds in a bailout thing, then the least these fuckers deserve is to be yelled at. That's another conversation for another time though.
Bill Burr was with a banker not the teller. The tellers are the ones you approach to make deposits or get money. I can see his frustrations, but also its Bill Burr. If you are able to be quick witted in a situation he was in and are able to bring comedy with points without f-bombs than keep it coregel, ya know. Trust me man I get referred to being Bill Burr all the time because the way I can come off with verbal assaults and also make fun of you. It's been my nick name before. Lol. I had to learn to tone it down, especially in public places.
REspondeat superior....employee is the servant of the employer...ie..if your company hired them...they are doing the bidding of the employer. hence, it makes it employers policy.
They didn't say that it wasn't real...they said that it was not issued by corporate office.
Just like the government says that they don't have any emails for FOIA...because the work was all run through private contractors. it doesn't mean that it didn't happen, or that there aren't emails...it means that they have promulgated policy via outside policies so as to not be directly linked....which is tacit acknowledgment that what they are doin is wrong...because they are HIDING IT.
But unless and until someone sues Goodyear and runs through discovery....it will still occur...except even more "discreetly"
My take on why so many Jewish people go commie: it’s a defect of being really smart. It’s not because they are Jewish.
Ashkenazi jews have highest IQs in world, right? Solid culture of academic focus: become doctor, lawyer, banker, nowadays engineer too.
Welp, some percentage of intellectual people that also have certain personality type turn into these authoritarian marxist types. I don’t think it’s a tribal thing (that Jews are trying to rule the world - some sure), as much as it’s a flaw in intellectuals, a space Jews happen to dominate.
They are in the Government now. The military and government contractors are pushing diversity and other Marxist nonsense.
My contracting company has mandatory BLM Diversity training. It's really just a circle jerk of black folks complaining about white folks and white folks apologizing.
I'm in school part time getting my MBA. The conventional thinking behind diversity is that it is a competitive advantage - which is complete BS. Corporations have bought into this because they think it is a liability if they are too white.
I think there is an opportunity here to expose corporations pushing this. The response from the market to whistleblowers will be impossible to ignore. If it is a greater liability to discriminate, they can do the math.
I was in school about a decade ago, but at that time the big buzzword was "stakeholder." In pure economics, and in reality, the C-suite's job is to maximize profits for shareholders. Period. But under the doctrine of "shareholder interests" business leaders have been trained to balance the interests of all parties - from employees, to vendors, to communities, to local governments, and to shareholders too. It always infuriated me because, while it sounds all warm and fuzzy, it's demonstrably false. If you're going to stay with an expensive vendor rather than their cheaper competitor because you're looking out for the interests of that stakeholder, it's an objectively bad business decision. It's the same perverse situation that globalists are in on the world stage, where diplomats are afraid to stand up for their own nation's best interests, instead obsessing over what the other guy wants and achieving "win/win" results.
Anyway, in my opinion the current hysteria started with the stakeholder logic. Today, such logic is used to justify poor policies like supplier diversity initiatives, where companies commit to buying inferior products at inflated prices if they're from a "diverse" vendor.
Serious question: How do we fight back against an employer that is forcing us to attend BLM Diversity training? My company has been having "uncomfortable discussions" and the next "discussion" is on white privilege.
This exactly! Leftists of course want to write it all down they want to be out and open eventually, but they know their ideas are hated, so they have to resort to keeping things quiet, and introduce it all slowly, drip by drip.
But to ensure their ideas can be enforced they have developed quite the knack to innately understand one another.
They always talk about dog whistles, and it’s all projecting because it’s them who use them when promoting their ideology.
Yep. They define the context and, wouldn't you know it, the Christian always loses and the Alphabet activist always wins.
At best they'll allow you to resign. Otherwise your workflow gets scrutinized till they uncover justification for discipline.
Reason 1,043 to run your own business.
Yeah well, that's not easy. I for one are just in the process of acquiring the skills needed and saving money, while also working on my project despite working 40h/week. Then it has to be finished by myself alone and be successful enough that I can even consider hiring someone.

It won't be easy... but nothing is really easy that's worth doing, so...
Brother Pede. It never is easy. If it were...democrats would do it.
Also, I am not saying there are angel investors here, but I am sure there are some intelligent business people to talk to.
They will just fire him/her for disclosing proprietary information.
Why risk losing your job arguing with a fag at work when you can risk your job arguing with a fag online from the comfort of your own home!
That's the point...you don't even have to be near the gay guy and don't need to be talking to him or even about him.
All that has to happen is that he overhears you talking about something...it makes him "uncomfortable" and...you'll be having a meeting with HR.
Bingo.

I totally agree.

Just came here to post this - I think we may work for the same company
If it is an aerospace company, then we almost certainly do have the same employer.
Nope. Fintech, but has the exact same terminology and group nomenclature.
Yup. Just another data point on how insidious and pervasive it is.
When do these companies get so bogged down in this bullshit that it starts impacting performance and they start losing money? Can we just force them to keep adding mandatory training days and diversity education until it impacts profits?

This is what I'm hoping is what is presented...rather than some marxist wokester bulllshit. we shall see.
Micro Aggression Training is a Micro Aggression
Mandatory or optional?
My company is doing a lot of this stuff too, but they're making it optional at least. It seems to satisfy the woke crowd while the normal people can get on with life.

Ever notice there’s no “woke diversity” shit in investment banking?
They either are the source of it, or they buy off anyone who comes sniffing around looking to disrupt.
Because making money for the bank and the wealthy is a pure meritocracy.
'He who pays the piper calls the tune.'
Scott Adams talks about this, but we would not have Dilbert if banking were a pure meritocracy.
They started the push with diversity and inclusion in the 90s in the banking sector.
They paid lip service to it, but do they actual do it?

I'm guessing the fat HR cow that put this in writing has now been terminated.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall at their next board meeting.
God bless that whistleblower. If Goodyear tries to scapegoat him/her I'll gladly financially contribute to legal aid.
There are plenty that do write it down, just like Goodyear
I found it interesting how that slide was said to be not real by the company. Now I wonder why they would say that?!
Here is the Original source it was very much real. I know people that where at the meeting and they had to sign that they talked about it.
Thanks for that! Sources are important!
They didn't say that it wasn't real...they said that it was not issued by corporate office. That is some fucked up shit! The fact that they actually put that up on a slide to PUSH to their employees...just wow

My company recently did "antiracist" training - it was not "mandatory" but "encouraged," and all managers had to attend.
