The biggest issue for them is that you threaten their sense of "niceness" and control.
How dare you not want to be nannied by me through my chosen political ideology! ~ How dare you not let me "take care of" you and run your life!
It isn't about logic; it's about emotions -- many of which are, ironically. pure -- the liberals have been convinced that what they are doing is good and just; that they are not the "baddies" but the "goodies". That is what makes it difficult.
They act like abusers, gaslighting you and shaming you because they want to make you feel bad. "How dare you not wear a mask! Don't you care about other people?! You have no respect for others!" They're evil.
The lobby at the top does intentionally do this; some of their supporters are on board with this; others simply think they are doing the right thing. It's very easy to twist things.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Biden himself has done that. "you ain't black". I didn't hear as much complaining about that as I should have. Heck if I was the one doing the interview I would have jumped all over his shit right then and there.
Some of us aren't much better in the sense that a lot of conservatives like to insist that liberals are smart people with good intentions who just happen to be wrong on a lot of things. No they are stupid people who want to divide, conquer, and control.
Uptrumped for based truths - most of the leftists have nothing but evil intentions, they are fully aware their propositions will hurt society and that's why they promote them. they want to watch the world burn, they have the spirit of Nero, they want to spit on Jesus and they want to watch Americans kick each others heads in.
They are brutes and arsonists at heart.
I won't insist that all of them are that way, but more than a few are -- they have been conditioned to desire what they desire and more to the fact: fear what they fear. It isn't that hard to do.
Breaking such conditioning is very hard, not all are capable of it.
