The combination of the key word SDNY and it being promoted by Fox is what is offputing to say the least. Like mentioned before in this forum, the lead prosecutor (DA?) was recently ousted by Barr, and Fox obviously tends to represent the president in a better light. I'm guessing, and I may be wrong, is that they solicited funds outside the main fundraiser and utilized those funds to pay themselves. Such as Entity Inc raising for Entity Fundraiser. The Fundraiser isn't what pays Entity Inc but they take donations to Entity Inc as well.
After the fundraiser ended, Kolfage and others got together and created a company to manage the project. That project itself also solicited donations. I'm guessing the US Attorney is arguing that they moved money back and forth to hide the source.
Either way, they built several miles of wall so far and if they stole much it's not evident in the progress.

Legal non-profit fraud is a cottage industry in the United States. People set up a non-profit, take in money, and pay themselves lavish salaries. All legal. As you said the only problem with Bannon's charity was the misrepresentation of 100% of the money going to the wall. The combination of the key word SDNY and it being promoted by Fox is what is offputing to say the least. Like mentioned before in this forum, the lead prosecutor (DA?) was recently ousted by Barr, and Fox obviously tends to represent the president in a better light. I'm guessing, and I may be wrong, is that they solicited funds outside the main fundraiser and utilized those funds to pay themselves. Such as Entity Inc raising for Entity Fundraiser. The Fundraiser isn't what pays Entity Inc but they take donations to Entity Inc as well.
After the fundraiser ended, Kolfage and others got together and created a company to manage the project. That project itself also solicited donations. I'm guessing the US Attorney is arguing that they moved money back and forth to hide the source.

Legal non-profit fraud is a cottage industry in the United States. People set up a non-profit, take in money, and pay themselves lavish salaries. All legal. As you said the only problem with Bannon's charity was the misrepresentation of 100% of the money going to the wall. Hopefully there was some fine print in the fund raising literature they put out that covers for this.

Reading through the charges there is only a single reference to an outside attorney, who doesn't appear to have been paid for anything to do with Wall funds.
