The American Revolution didn't kick off the moment the Brits taxed our tea... that was just one issue amongst many, and we had several massacres of colonials by the imperials before real militias started organizing. Even when things finally kicked off in Boston, the skirmishes those couple of days were not perfectly coordinated. Americans revolt when they are left no other choice, and they do so reluctantly, but when they do revolt, they fight to take back everything that was denied them.
Fun fact: The American Revolution basically started with one shit-poster pointing out the evils of Britain, publishing opinion pieces anon in Boston newspapers using false names. He then planned a "tea party" where everyone LARPed as Indians and trashed some British cargo, and then he founded a social network of patriots called the Committies of Correspondence. He pissed the British elite off so much, they sent soldiers to arrest him and his buddy in Lexington, Massachusetts. Fortunately, Sam Adams and John Hancock were able to escape before the Brits got there, thanks to intel from Paul Revere. Why do I get the feeling those guys would love Pepe memes?
I'd advise going straight to the primary sources. Here is a website with going on 200,000 documents from our Founding Fathers. You can read their words for yourself without leftist interpretations before moving on to conventional history books. https://www.founders.archives.gov/
