I'm not a huge gambler, and even though I think Trump will win I think betting a large sum is wreckless and I just wanted to get it off of my chest. I care about my friends, but do I warn him of the dangers, or do I congratulate him?
What would you say if your friend bet a large sum on trump? (It might not be large for you, but it's in the four figures, which is large for me, I'm a student. If he gets paid out.. it's gonna be a five figure payout.. like more than a year of college + books)
Thanks.
tl;dr - Need advice for friend. I'm sure Trump's gonna win, but I think the amount he bet on Trump's victory is insane for a 2nd year student. Part of me wants to congratulate him, but another part wants me to smack him upside the head and say he's nuts. What do I do?

Say something nice so that when he gets paid out he’ll invite you to the victory party.
I'm shaking my head lol. I heard comments from Tim Pool on how Trump's pretty much gonna win, but don't expect a land slide. I don't wanna be overly certain; hubris is a hell of a bitch. That's what cost dems in 2016. I think his bet is logically sound, but the amount of funds he poured onto this bet is just astronomical for a second year student.
that and....have you known a Trump supporter to go the other way? If it was that much of an electoral slaughter before....I do anticipate an even larger one now. He has only gained supporters over the years....doubt have lost.
That said....I understand you wanting to be a good friend, but it may simply just piss him off if you try to get in the middle of it.
Only bet what you can afford
I would be concerned that there will be no official result to this election. There will probably be an obvious result, Trump winning, but it won't be official. Bad things will follow.
I wonder what gamblings sites will do about that. I heard the results won't be same night now which means technically anything goes since we're all blindly just trusting the polls. That makes me feel uneasy about the bet my friend made.
Enjoy his decision vicariously. Despite the outcome, you won’t lose any money, but you’ll get to join in on the thrill.
Perhaps you should mind your own business.
He's not a child, and your not his guardian. He's a college kid, at a stage where he can make reasonable decisions about risk, and recover easily should it prove to be a mistake.
What happens if there's no official election results?
Which could VERY EASILY happen.....
I bet $4K in 2016 and made $12K. I was more certain Trump was going to win back then because it was already mid-Oct. and there was more evidence from early voting, etc., that Hillary wasn't getting the turnout the polls assumed.
I'm probably not going to bet this time around since prices aren't that good.
After the election I slowly transitioned to tweet markets where I could make up to $12K a month.
