They seem to be trying to just target female mosquitos, distant feminist screeching, but they don't seem to have at all thought through the long term consequences if this works.
The fact that this was pushed through by all levels of government above any and all objections says to me that there's something else going on with this than just trying to "prevent diseases." I do understand that it's "only 1%" of the mosquito population that will be affected, but the sheer directness of this despite the timeframe and the overall unwillingness to listen to anyone else should raise more than a few questions.
