Greenland is kinda nice. Though we've got lots of open tundra here in Canada, in the winter you can have 23.5hrs of darkness and freeze your ass off at -50F(blizzards are a bonus). In the summer, you can have 23.5hrs of daylight, and if the mosquitoes don't drain you of blood. Then black flies will carry you away to feast upon your flesh. Annnnd....there's plenty of places where there is no civilization within 3 days.
Not really joking on the mosquitoes and black flies. I was doing some work up in the far north last summer, and we had to wear netting while working out in the field, it only topped out at 80F while I was there.
