Yes this is so important. And also easy to implement, you just need the will to do so.

Can you imagine if I'm shopping on (got example) Amazon and then I move to a different area of the country and with my new address Amazon doesn't know who I am? Every single company has a single database for their customers (at least nationally), but the government?

Oh but I'm sure it would be racist too, somehow.

Oh please, the government has multiple databases of people across state lines.

It's exactly that they don't want to implement anything to limit the ability to steal elections.
