I appreciate the message here, but that kid is in an Abercrombie hoodie at 8 years old...

I'm going guess being spoiled maybe a factor.

I had a richer aunt and grew up fairly poor. I had a lot of Nautica, Nike, Aeropostle and Ralph Lauren Polo clothes that were hand me downs from her husband. My point being you should never assume things, especially towards strangers, that's what Dems do.

Private school tuition is a helluva lot more expensive than any sweatshirt. That is why we need vouchers. Taxpayers are throwing a shit ton of money into education, it is just not being used wisely.

The public schools in my area spend more per student than the private schools. We need to abolish public schools and give parents vouchers instead.

The kid has a laptop, doesn't seem poor to me.

maybe a factor.

Sorry I didn't hedge that enough I guess?

Look this child deserves love and guidance, and I agree with the message, but the product placement doesn't help the message.

I was just trying to inform you that your comment was coming off as rude and accusatory, I know tone is hard to discern in text format but we are all united here and whether you meant it or not you seemed combative but no big deal.

I think publishing a photo of your kid like that is rude too.

How frustrating is school going to be now that all the other students have photos of him bawling?

Whether it came from the store or a garage sale, it often looks the same.

Even if the kid's parents are rich, I'm not seeing the connection between spending money on clothing and indulging/spoiling your child.

Plenty of serviceable hoodies at half the price for not having a name brand on them like that. Spending money is one thing, wasting money is another.

Some friends have kids a couple years older than my son. They'll bring over garbage bags full of Timberland, Gap, Old Navy, etc. without any signs of wear on them. I've really only bought my son a couple things. One of which was a name brand jacket which ended up being ~$14 after multiple sales were applied at an outlet store.

On the other hand maybe the parents choose to splurge on their son's clothing because they never had anything but hand-me-downs growing up...

I get that there are many avenues for overpriced clothing to end up on kids, but do they all include the context of posting the child crying?

You have a point, as well as the parent shoving a camera in the kids face while hes crying, nothing good about this, not the schooling, not the reaction, this should be taken up with people who can enact change in the community, not shown to the anonymous public.
