Honestly, he sounded better than he has sounded for the last few months. It was a lengthy speech, and he had only a few very minor flubs. I'm frankly impressed that he could read and emote like he understood what he was reading, so well.
Given this performance, he might actually show up to a debate or two. I don't see him making it through a debate with Trump like this though. Trump will goad him and have him off balance. But tonight was a good speech for him, just being honest.
