In 2016 I voted libertarian. I liked Trump but wasn’t 100% sold and didn’t have confidence in the establishment Republicans. Looking at the vote totals most states had Gary Johnson at 3%. In MN, for example, it was 3.8%.

Trump has been the most libertarian president we’ve had. That being said, I’m assuming most libertarians would switch to Trump for 2020, I certainly am. If that’s the case he’d pick up a few extra states while holding onto the ones he flipped. That mixed with the massive amount of people walking away from the dems we may be looking at a landslide victory.

I haven’t heard any commentators, or anybody, speak to this point. Is it just me? What do you all think?

Gary Johnson? Isn't he a pathetic globalist cuck?

Yeah, but we didn't know before the election. Think about it: how many politicians did you like that you realized were utter shit once Trump came along? He exposed all of them.

I supported Clinton in 96. Now I think he's a piece of shit

I supported McCain in 08. Now I think he's a piece of shit

I supported Romney in 12. Now I think he's a piece of shit

I supported Johnson in 16. Now I think he's a piece of shit

I supported Ryan up until 17. Now I think he's a piece of shit

Yes we did. Johnson was a racist crybaby Orange Man Bad retard who thought it was okay if the executive refused to enforce the people's laws because muh dreamers.

"We" refers to Gary Johnson supporters, not everyone on thedonald.win. No offense taken.

I never liked any of these people.

I supported Dole in 96, because I couldn't stand Clinton

I supported Bush in 00 & 04, because I couldn't stand Gore or Kerry

I supported McCain in 08, because I couldn't stand Obama

I supported Romney in 12, because I couldn't stand Obama

I voted for Trump in 16, because I couldn't stand Clinton, but I actually liked Trump.

The Bushes, McCain, Romney, Clintons: they're all exactly the same!

We?

Speak for yourself.

Anyone awake since Ron Paul could see through Johnson like glass

You say speak for yourself and then immediately speak for other people. Hypocrite much? It just happens I was a huge Ron Paul supporter so obviously your assertion is incorrect.

It wasn't just that. They put William Weld on the ticket as VP. I lived in Assholechusetts when he was governor there and banned "assault weapons".

Seriously? How does the LP manage to nominate someone who hates guns? I'm one of the first people to think the "I'm more libertarian than you!" crowd has done enormous damage to the party, but gun ownership is pretty fundamental. Would the LP have tolerated Kamala Harris as their VP pick just because she's got name recognition?

They needed a "moderate" on the ticket to try and generate mainstream appeal. Plus having two 2-term governors on the ticket let them argue that their ticket had more executive branch experience than the Trump/Pence or Clinton/Kaine tickets.

Weld ended up being a shitty choice though. Given that Weld sabotaged his own running-mate's message by saying "hurr durr, we're in it to beat Drumpf". Johnson was pretty emphatic that he was running to give people something to vote for, rather than just "at least I'm not the other guy".
